Jesus fucking christ I like Star Trek but in an anti-trekkie trekkie way. The TOS and TNG films were worth Star Trek watching more than the shows itself.
I think That Star Trek The Wrath of Khan is the best of the series because of it's great villain: Khan. And the second best was Star Trek the Undiscovered Country
Star Treks Wrath of Kahn, Search for spock, Voyage Home, Undiscovered Country, First Contact were good, I like Generations too, I know its not the best and it has a lot of problems but i remember it from my childhood, The Motion Picture is a bit dull and went on too long with its cgi shots, insurrection was ok, nemesis let me down, the recent XI was weird and different and Final Frontier was awful
@HansVier haha. well.. yeah, i guess i can ask me parents to buy me the star trek series as a Christmas gift. they don't show movies like star trek in hbo asia nor starmovies anymore. well, except for the 2009 remake.
@SickDream I believe it was first used the Motion Picture in 1979. Jerry Goldsmith is the composer. He's also done the scores for many other movies including Alien, Rambo, and Tora! Tora! Tora!.
He does not appear to be credited for any Star Trek music before 1979.
@SickDream - The TNG Theme is faster than the TMP theme, which was done by Jerry Goldsmith, and he was Paramount's answer to John Williams doing Star Wars' music. The original TNG theme was much different than the one we are used to, created by Denis McCarthy, but Gene thought it was too militaristic, so the intro was kept, then the TMP theme was brought in. The original TNG theme does live on though, as it was a common musical cue during the first season of TNG.
Ya know where i stopped watching TMP? the 5 minute reveal of the ship.. its like bleeeegghh shots of spaceship FOREVER! no offence. I loved TWOK and TVH, TSFS was so-so and i havent seen TFF and TUD yet :(
Star Trek III TSFS - Boooooring. Too slow for Me Lol. Not much excitement, Action..
Star Trek IV TVH - VERY Funny, Entertaining. Love a Strar Trek movie with Humor as the StoryLine.
Star Trek V TFF - Cheesy, corny rendition of 'GOD' there. Other than That, I thought it was Just too plain...
Star Trek VI TUC - Great closer to Basically 25 years of the franchise of Kirk and company. It had a little bit of Everything that I thought was enjoyable.
Yeah, Star Treks II - V were All part of a Chronological SEQUENCE. But here's MY take o all of Them..
Star Trek I TMP - VERY confusing; SUBpar plot...
Star Trek II TWOK - Classic ShowDown between Kirk and Khan, Khan and Kirk. Great story, Good ending. GREAT Quote (Y'ALL know that Klingon proverb lol)
The first one is just weird, like the writers were on drugs - two and three are brilliant, I never like The Voyage Home but The Undiscovered Country is great

I find it quite funny that they used stock footage from the previous films to cover up the crappy special effects they slapped together for Star Trek 5.
that score was originally used in the first film.... written by jerry goldsmith.
it was abandoned for films II and III ... written by James Horner ... Horner is incredible!! I dont know they wouldn't pay him what he needed for the rest of the films.
can u imagine a star wars film without a William's score?
Why the fuck are these trekies arguing so much over the years! if time travels possible in star trek, the years are irrelevant! Wow I just put like a million trekies in their place. dam Im good!
according to historical events in the updated encyclopedia:2271 TMP/2285 Wrath of Khan&Search for Spock/2286 The Voyage Home/2287 The Final Frontier/2293 The Undiscovered Country/2371 Generations/2373 First Contact/2375 Insurrection. That was my understanding not trying to argue the fact.
I realise now that MysterousStranger is referring to the NEW stardate system that comes into being in the year 2323.
I referred to the OLD stardate system that starts at the beginning of Kirk's first five year mission. Stardate 1986 would fall a third of the way into season one of TOS (Check the stardates in the 'TOS Season 1' article at Memory Alpha).
TMP was a carbon copy of "The Changeling" but it had the best model work of the movies... so far anyway. We'll see how XI turns out! It'll be the first trek movie in 7 years.
TMP and The Final Frontier had the best soundtracks, imho.
He's not in it, he wanted to be, but Nimoy's Spock's coming back in time from a post
Star Trek: Nemesis time, so Kirk, sadly, is dead; Shatner asked if they could just canonize the novels that say Kirk lives, but they said no.

OK everyone I am going to say this and if you don't like it thats too bad but Star Trek V The Final Frontier sucks as a Star Trek film it was a failure accoding to the consensus I think the Star Trek IV and Star Trek First Contact are awesome and Star Trek II do the hell with Star Trek V who cares about some guy who claims to be Spock's brother lol!
I'm with you on that and I'm not against any of the movies really. Shatner did attempt to get the studio to allow him to make a director's version of Star Trek V to improve it's specaial effects and so forth like with Star Trek TMP but they rejected his proposal.
your out of your mind, it was an superb remix for STTMP!
I saw in in 70 mm Dolby in Auckland at the metroplex during it's limited re-release a couple of years back, it was incredible!,
and the movie recieved thunderous applause from the audience at movies end and we all got a free 2 disc dvd set after the feature as we left the metroplex!!!

but i like ST 8 the most.
