I love it. i just recently started riding the spur line and saw this one day. i am so fascinated and glad that you posted this and had the guts to do it. the train runs so fast its like a blur. i wonder if anyone payed attention to the old 24th street station in the trolley tunnel. Now that was cool. its equipped with platforms and all.
Hey so where are these two? Because the 8th and market one (According to wiki) is still open. How do you get into these places? And also, 24th and what street?
@deathbyzergling You have to catch the 8th and market ridge spur to see this station between fairmount and chinatown station. The 24th street station now forgotten about is lightly lit between 22nd and 30th street station in the subway surface trolley line. I dont know how they got in the tunnel other than walking causiously
@miskers12 WHHHAATTT thats dope as fuck. here in nj all we got is one 2mile long legal wall, were a jam or 2 is held throughout the year. and thats it. but then again we got mad chill spots....
shit dude!!!! i went down there at 3am afta catching da last EL..fuckin guards swarmed my ass, had 2 drop a smoke granade 2 lose those fools, but i got out wit my homies.. don't kno how da hell u didn't run in2 trouble down there..big ups on ur stealth man
read it again dumbass b4 u reply, i'll break it down 4 ur IQ level...i was in the tunnel when septa guards chased me & my friends, so i lit a smoke granade a.k.a firecracker & got away...i also asked him how he didn't run in2 trouble, & giving him props 4 sneaking in2 da staion without alerting anyone.....
That must be a station on the Ridge avenue line right? I know there is also a station that they don't use on the PATCO line to, Franklin square station, there has been some talk of reopening that station to pedestrians once again, they used it for a brief time during the Bicentenial, there are some nice murals and old colonial style maps on the walls for visitors to read.
It's an old station that the sub doesn't stop at anymore. You can see it if you ride the 8th and market train to the gallery... but keep your eyes peeled because the train goes by pretty fast ;)
Ding-Dong... You are Wrong... Only the station is abandoned, not the line... trains pass through this station on their way to 8th and market.... So the 3rd rail is indeed hot.
kkkkkkkirby already said it's the old Spring Garden Station on the Ridge-Spur Subway abandoned abt 15 yrs ago. For those that claim to have taken the subway everyday & never saw it? You'd have to have only ridden on the main subway line. This is apart from it, starting @ 8th& Market, then Chinatown, Spring Garden and Fairmount (which joins the main subway's Fairmnount station) and then joins the main subway.
I'd love to go down there sometime, without getting arrested or electrocuted lol ~_~.
ahit like that is dope especialy if its abandone makes it more of and adventure i gues. hopefuly some rich fuck doent come to you town and plant a bunch of homes everywhere, good luck.
Kewl. Now, if only someone could but get some video up on YouTube of the much more longer abandoned Franklin Square station on PATCO, it'd all be good.
that place is tight, and alot nicer inside than the abandoned subway in cincinnati your lucky that place still has electricity, cincinnati's doesnt, but the abandined subway in cinci has some killer graff too!
yeah ok lets just drop the name and location of this place because no cop will ever see it or anything. if you dont know where that is you shouldnt be painting
My friends n I been there before/ we actually walked the tracks of the orange like at chinatown and stop there to chill for alil we was on our way my friends house
