Elvis was likely very low/depressed when he sang this song - and maybe, truly feeling the words he was singing. According to many sources, after his divorce in 1972, he was on a downward spiral. I wish someone could have helped him get away from drugs, return to health and live a normal lifespan. He was SOOOO talented and could relate to almost everyone with his voice. He could take any song and sing it just as well or better...

There is Frank Sinatra, Pavarotti, Karen Carpenter, Michael Jackson, Dean Martin, Streisand, many great singers of all genres, but there is the best, the totally best singer and voice the world has ever known belonged to Elvis Presley. I've never been to Graceland, not a Presley fan per say, but if I had to pick a singing voice to have, it would be his. Charisma, style, honesty and personality. He had it all and lost it.
