  • There's this common misunderstanding that a good GDP / GPD ratio also means public wealth / health is doing well and that there must be a high standard of living for the general public.

    Here a nice example how, even if the GDP to GPD was more favorable, these numbers still do not reflect a high standard of living.

    In fact, the GDP can rise from things like war, health care and the fast-food industry. Growth in these market actually suggests poor public standards.
