I think people are just afraid when life reminds them that they're not eternal. Paul Rodger's fate with Queen is an example of this. "Paul's here, because Freddie's dead? Oh no! Are we gonna die too?". And even if Paul sings 1000 times better than Freddie (he does!) nothing's gonna change. Pity that too many people think that a principle Queen created (Show Must Go On) doesn't work with Queen themselves, and that rock is the music of frontmen.

He does the song very differently from the studio version, and of course he would, he's another type of singer. That's why it works!

So the fact that you've played in front of people and been on the radio makes your opinion carry more weight than that of others? I guess that means we should start seeing Colbie Caillat as more than just a set of tits and recognize her for her musical prowess too. Paul has about half the vocal range Freddie did, plus he can't seem to hold a note for any length of time here. Freddie's songwriting was also better and more original than Paul's generic, 70s rock sound.

As a matter of fact, yes it does, seeing as you were questioning my knowledge. Paul's range is different, Freddie couldn't hit a lot of notes live and would either cop out or flat, nor could he hold them live. Paul isn't a studio creation, he hits all his stuff live and was nicknamed "the voice" by his peers. He has one of he most powerful and soulful voices in Rock.. I'm not saying Freddie wasn't great but Paul is an amazing singer that I believe adds a different element to the songs.

I have seen him live and watched alot of live footage, he goes low alot and goes flat sometimes. He is not nearly as smooth live. My credits were only stated because my "knowledge" was being questioned. That being said, I have a lot more respect for sartists that can reproduce songs accurately live. It's easy to have great studio vocals when you can take the best of 500 takes done over months and splice them together. What matters is if you can nail it live, one take, every night.
