  • Sounds like shit.

  • ... NYHC ...

  • Awesome. :-)

  • WOW!!! I cannot believe it!!! This Chucky "True Colors" of Gomez Films, Inc. and I look crazy!!! Wow, i cannot believe that I am witnessing me 25 years ago?!? Crazy!!! I really loved that show!!!! :) I had the best time... Straight Ahead was one of my favorite NYC Hardcore bands. As, I am watching this clip, I now want to make a documentary about the NYC Hardcore scene, so I can create an excuse to shoot a reunion show somewhere in NEW YORK CITY. Happy Holidays.

  • 9 ppl mistakenly hit the dislike button or their ears are retarded.

  • YOUTH FUCKING CREW. BREAK THROUGH, BREAK FREE, BREAK AWAY.

  • craig ahead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Con eso si

  • i was there too killer set they played , no fights

  • REAL HARDCORE. OLD SCHOOL.

  • what the fuck happened to the sound?

  • fuckin gangster

  • This vid never gets old. Anything other than a 5 star rating is blasphemy.

  • One of the best NYHC band ever !!!

  • I was at this show. Classic. My old pal Chuck True Colors sings along during Breakaway. This period of NYHC was fucking awesome. CBGBS and Real NYHC rip.

  • seriously man. i was born 2 decades early in the wrong state. i live in MA but in my opinion NYHC > BHC. just my opinion take it or leave it.

  • Fuck me, why wasnt i born twenty years earlier.

  • Fuck yeah!

  • INSANE!

  • i have a bootleg copy of spirit of youth on gold vinyl. dont care if its a boot at all they are one of the greatest hardcore bands ever and i love that record.

  • why is this only 4 and half stars instead of 5?!! this is the best video on the internet.

  • not gonna listen to what they say.... break through... break free break away....

wow... had this 12" back then... and listened to it over and over and over .... can't believe this voice came out of - him. Funny. Too bad the vocals the recording blows... but that's punk.

CBGB hardcore matinee. looks like the local football team stopped by after practice

  • the frontman looks like the crowd haha you can notice its him just cause hes holding a mic

  • Tommy C. was better as the drummer of NYC Mayhem. Gordon Ancis went on to play with Agnostic Front for a short while.

  • i still get chills watching this shit.

  • thats me with the public enemy red shirt..the good old days i heard tommy carroll was a boxer!!!

  • yea thats chaka from burn who grabs the mic when knock down starts

  • i wish i was at cbgbs moshing with the skinheads during 88

  • There were some cool bands and kids back then, but there were also a bunch of violent assholes who started fights, too. Check out the stupid jock football jerseys some of these dudes are wearing. Most of these guys were out of the scene within a few years.

  • u see the singer of burn in the pit

  • this the shit.

all these new hxc kids don't know what real hardcore is

  • Wish I was in NYC at the time. Those days plus the very early days of hardcore punk appeal to me most.

  • Young at heart, all for fun. We fight for right, to all be one. We speak through music. Our voice will never stop. When we communicate we know not to listen to your rot. A burst of energy is what we give. Being ourselves is how we live. Spirit Of Youth! We're not the same. We all think different. But the spirit of youth, we all live it. Spirit Of Youth!

  • does anyone know where the fuck I can get a Straight Ahead recording? I can't seem to find anything from them anywhere.

  • I only have the 12" that I got at a show in NY in 87 or 88, did they ever put anything else out after Craig left?

  • The only other official recording they did was the End The Warzone compilation with Attitude Adjustment, LARM and another band that is alluding me right now. Numerous boots have been made of the 12" but thats about it.

  • you're thinking of pillsbury hardcore - they did a NA cover and one original on that comp.

  • Hmmmm, remembering around 97? 98? I think lost and found records put it out on cd. Either lost and found or somebody else...i dropped the ball buying it, than it was sold out.

  • I have seen them on ebay.

  • This was when hardcore was HARDCORE! Maybee 2 nyhc bands had been signed to record deals. It was DIY. Almost everyone got along. Shows were frequent and crowded. Best years of my youth.

  • great shit !! cool

  • I was actually looking for the band Straight Ahead. When I heard this I thought... wtf? This is SOIA :S But it's a great song :)

  • This is the NY band Straight Ahead who SOIA covered. Armand & Craig from SOIA were in Straight Ahead. Everything clear? Good.

    Spirit of Youth!

  • greg ahead (the bass player) is in soia.

  • craig, not greg

  • the most fucking amazing band ever you cunt

  • best shit in the world

  • Let's not forget the appearance of Mike Bullshit.

  • Paul bearer... is he in every old video?

  • This is fake. You can tell by the sliced in music (Black Flag) and the digital touch-ups. I was there.

  • yea the singer is def my dad
