My first computer was a Commodore 64. The second was an 086 that my dad purchased in 1986 which had 640K RAM and a 20 MB hard drive. He wouldn't let us kids touch it because it "wasn't a toy." In 1994 I had a computer with Windows 3.1. In 1998 I bought my 1st PC that had 96 MBs of RAM, a Pentium II Processor, Windows 98 and an 8 GB hard drive. I replaced that with an XP computer in 2005 with 512 MBs RAM. My current PC has 16 GBs RAM, an i7 Processor and a 1 TB HD and AMD 6670 2 GB graphics card.
@vistakid10 My first machine had about 250MHz processor, 256 MB ram, a video card dat sucks and 40GB HDD. My second had 1GB RAM DDR1, AMD Athlon 1GHz processor, Nvidia geforce 5200 128mb video card and 100gb hdd. My third (and current) has AMD Athlon II Dual Core 3.2GHz processor, 4GB Ram ddr3, Nvidia geforce GTS 450 1GB DDR5 video card and 500 GB HDD. My first machine was bought with 675 bux, my second was a gift and my third was bought with 500 bux.
My dad bought his first PC when I was a year old in 1994
It was on Black Friday '94 and the system was a Packerbell that had Windows 3.1, 8 MB of RAM, and a Intel 486 that ran at 66 MHZ. Oh yeah. And a 120 MB harddrive.....
all for a grand total of: $1500!!!! Hasn't been turned on for 9 years and Im afraid the thing will blow up.........
Gotta love those old intel processors! Now I got a AMD Phenom II 805, 8 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of hard drive space with Vista Ultimate

@PompousPreacher why do you have a 6670 with 2gb graphics memory? Just spend a little more and get something decent like a 6770 or 6850?

Not THAT nostalgic for me... i started with a Commodore64, ~1MHz 8Bit, 64KiloBytes RAM, Microsoft Basic V2...
;-)
Then Amiga (started with AOS1.3, up to 3.1), my first Windows95 Computer was a Pentium100 with 8MB RAM... just one of many steps...
