@tennisprodigy11 The followthrough is a byproduct of what the player wanted to do with the ball. U12 kids should be exposed to all the fh intentions vis a vis speed, spin, direction, height and length. What followthrough is needed for any one of those variables will show up naturally eg. hardly at all for a fh drop shot or around the hip for a drive.
@tennisprodigy11 I'll agree that it may be a bad example for kids in that they will most likely notice the wrist snap and emulate that, but to an extent, the followthrough is not necessarily a bad thing to notice. Yes, kids should probably first start learning over the shoulder, but with those new foam balls and stuff, coming over the ball a little more is something that they can afford to learn earlier. Everything else in feds forehand is sound and easier to emulate than a lot of tour pros.
@Jaygenius Thats an awesome metaphor, I never looked @ it that way but it sure captures the visage. I'm thankful that we lived in times that saw the likes of him!
@BenKey4 i think so ^^ thats even pretty likely in my opinion but i want to see him on no 1! because then all these guy underestimating him will hopefully stop doubting if he's the GOAT, because he definately is and i think hes gonna show taht once more, ore twice ...... xD :)
if you see federer's forehand and don't wet yourself, you have a serious problem.i literally drooled like a four year old who hasn't seen mommy in ages.
@mazzu10 In that video it looks like he doesnt change grip for the forehand and he uses eastern forehand grip. I could be wrong though. But i use eastern for both my serves and forehand.

If Michael Chang be Olympic 2012 captain of China China will win Olympic 2012 champion, I am 100% sure.

@tennisprodigy11 I don't know what kids think but I want Fed's forehand :)

@tennisprodigy11 doesnt it mean that we need a new example then?

@tennisprodigy11 I copied it as well as I could and I came out with some booming forehands. Bad example? Who doesn't want Fed's forehand.

I love how after he shoots a winner, Federer lets his racket down. It's like he's sheathing a sword.

Compared to his racket arm his other arm is very thin.
locopolka 10 months ago
@locopolka That's understandable seeing how he doesn't use his left arm at all other than holding the V of the racket.
