Hmm...I reckon it must be six. I'm no steam engine expert and don't know where the name 'Black Five' originates. My stepfather is the fanatic and has loads of books, and even he couldn't tell me! What I do remember is that this kind of loco was built post-war (WWII) by the nationalised British Railways, and so tended to be rather less glamorous than the locos that went before them.
