  • I knew someone took my toaster!

  • Whats the normal rpm on main rotor at lift?

  • @dtiydr 294 to 324 Max rotor RPM is 339. Flew Hueys from 68-73 and was an Instructor Pilot as well.

  • @Monkmaster1969 Interesting to hear and tnx for the info!

  • Absolutely beautiful! I flew these for a few years in the Jamaica Defence Force Air Wing. My absolute favourite helicopter, and I've flown quite a few types. Nothing compares to the sound and feel of a Huey.

  • late light off, Did any fuel control/ fuel system work?

  • It´s a mobile phone vid, isn´t it?

So sad... with a digital cam it would be soooooo much better. And longer...

Try again with a good cam and you´ll get 5 stars.

    Greetings from cologne, germany, Fred

  • Nice, but, the main rotor blades should be 90 degrees before the start up. Greettings from Argentina!!!

  • Chills!

  • who needs Viagra.

  • @1BustedMyth: A Huey is a living thing;-)

  • human kind has never known a better swing-wing aircraft.

  • Ah ya sexy old green beast !

Is it legal to marry a machine? is a Huey a machine or a person? ;)

  • These things are so awesome, they shake my house as they pass over it.

  • uh 60s are nice but gta needs HUEY UH1!!!!!

  • wop wop wop....love it

  • @mrsmelzbad Yes, it's ultrasonic noise from the peaks of the long rotorblades.

    I like this sound too.Distinctive.

When you hear this sound, you know immediately - It's a Huey

  • Did you know that the big nut that holds the main rotor to the transmission is called the "Jesus" nut?.. athiests have no name for it.

  • I watched a show on one if the cable channels don't remember witch one but it did a comparison of the worlds geatest helis and the Huey won! A great chopper!

  • look out charlie here i come...brings back some great memories

  • TheCottonTop......yeah I know the snake is built on the Huey platform. I was expressing my fondness of the aircraft by saying nothing sounds like a Huey.

However you disagreed, and said the snake sounds ALMOST like a huey. To be technical saying it ALMOST sounds like a Huey would support my phrase that nothing sounds like a Huey.

Or maybe just take people's comments with a grain of salt and not be Mr. Correction

  • who says? I know atleast a dozen choppers that sound just like a huey.. but I just can't think of any right now :P

  • @Kopihucky It's been 5 months ago. Name one.

  • @jetscan2nl HaHa and 5 months later still no detection of sarcasm on your part.

  • Nothing...NOTHING sounds like a Huey

  • Sarge.. I must diagree a Super Cobra sounds almost Identical. After all The Cobra was built on the Huey platform and with the Huey drive compoinents.

  • @Sarge1966 My Chopper sounds like Huey

  • Smile to my face. Wish the vid was a little longer.

  • Yeah baby listen to that badboy!! viet fuckn nam baby yyeeehaaa

  • I recently went to the Dayton Vectren Airshow(drove 200 mi to get there) and they were giving Huey rides there. I heard that sound all day........and I still love it..lol

  • How can something this simple give me chills?

    It's fucking awesome, that's how.

  • @SIMM0NS77 no doubt. i showed this to my father a nam vet. saw the smile on his face. said i know that sound well. i want this as an alarm clock sound. around 120 140 decibels or so

  • @SIMM0NS77 Yes, that thing is a flat out legend and it still gives me chills when I see one.

  • Comment removed
