Well little Emo Boy, if you're a confident teenager who's in touch with truth and reality, then good for you. But fact is, a lot of teenagers are struggling, are still searching, are socially awkward, unsure of themselves, highly impressionable and not yet fully developed as human beings. And that doesn't have anything to do with 'todays world' versus 13 years ago. Tthat's just biology, hormones and transitioning, factors that do not change over time.

Incredibly realistic portrayal of teen crushes. As outsiders we see they have little in common other than mutual attraction and they're horribly awkward with each other but in Angela's eyes he's the perfect man and they have the perfect conversations.

This is not today's world, this is over 13 years ago and believe me, times have changed A LOT. I think I might know about this a little better than you because I was a teenage girl in the 90's. And I'm talking about how their relationship makes us feel. I agree with you that they're awkward and they have no connection,but when you're into someone, sometimes you're blinded and don't see the flaws that others see. That's my point and the way it's shown here is realistic.
