Diamond freak super-villian (with Elfmanesque music) was the weakest point of this movie. Eschewing that, this is a strong telling of the story. Better than the Big Budget (which I liked).

Apparently that's the only reason that this experiment involving flying a flimsy spacecraft close to an object that normally travels at the speed of light in order to capture some of it's power using a crystal that is not secured in place at all and that he just bought for this very purpose could possibly go wrong.

They made a reference to it the '05 movie. There's a scene were Ben goes to Alicia's art gallery and sees some puppets. When he asks her about them, she says that they were made by her stepfather.

This is just wonderful.

It's actually better than many of the newer pieces, in fact, I don't think it's all that bad at all. A really admirable attempt on a low budget.

Other than the fire one, quite a few of these actors seem to pop up in television drama quite a lot, at least I definitely recognise Reed, Invisible Woman and The Thing. I think I'll imdb them later.
