A question: First of all, yours look awesome :) Mine are similar to the size and I've been having them for only about 2 months. Question: How do you deal with the 'roots' of the dreads? Are they a never ending piece of work or do they dread by themselves after a while?

@ochaiscream section your hair into 1 or 1.5 inch sections around your head and then backcomb the sections until they form dreadlocks. You don't need any sort of product, all you need is time for them to start looking good(they will look like shit for the first few months then as they get older they'll get better)

wax or non :? im getting my dreds removed id has been about 9 months or 1 year i had them but i used wax sop i fucked up :S i will now get the crochet hooked :D NEVER USE WAX ON DREADS :S

@zeks14 i think you may have overdone it i had locks for 6 years and used wax for the first 6 months and never had a problem the wax is only for getting started not a permanent thing a good thing to use is 100% aloe gell washes out easily if you over wax then you will only wash out a little wax at a time and if you keep putting wax in like once a week its a never ending battle and you will have candles not locks

The roots take the longest to lock for some people. 4 and a half months isn't even enough for the roots to fully lock anyway.

Did you start urs that big, or did they get bigger as they got longer. dreadlocks are the natural state of your hair.Sadhus from hindhu cultures use dreadlocks as a natural stat of hair, they don´t comb it, they don´t care about the hair it just grows like that. It is spiritual to them because they want to be the most natural that is possible. if you don´t comb your hair for example you get natural dreadlocks. i think when you have dreads you must think about the spiritual thing about that. i stopped using needle and those sheets. now they grow natural.Good Luck!
