my g-g-g grandmother was cherokee from dalton she was a rolston. my grandmother was actually the first one of our family born in i.t. oklahoma after it became vinita, oklahoma.
I'm 3/8 Cherokee on my Daddy's side. I loved seeing the pictures of New Echota. I've always wanted to go there. If memory serves me, that was where Nancy Ward, the last Beloved Woman of the Cherokee tribe, lived prior to the Trail of Tears.
OMG. The more I watch you, the more we seem to have in common! I am extemely interested in learning more about Cherokees. You look part "Native American" but who's to say? I want to find out if I am. Being very white makes me think I'm not, but my mom says her dad is a Cherokee descendant. My husband definitely is. There is actual proof that he is a descendant of Solomon and Seaberry Osborne, who fled to West Virginia. Seaberry was Chief Running Bear's daughter. Very interesting stuff!
Hey lemonette! You're the first blogger I came across, watched your Perfect relationship blog by accident and have now watched about 15 of your videos. You're great, keep making them videos! Sanna from Finland.
My daugher & I just love your "home-spun" humour, witty, dry ... and congrats that you have 100+ subscribers .... we are awaiting more from you about Southernisms! :)
That place reminds me a little of Greenfield Village. My husband would just love that place.I know what you mean about crazy in December.Congrats on the 103!
You are so entertaining! Congratulations on your # 100, Thats a big accomplishment especially withought being featured or anything! That goes to show you that a good Vblog gets places on your own! YES you do deserve it, and much more, what a pleasure it was to see your husband and your little grandkids. Keep em comin lemonette!
Haha! I knew about the "No Cherokee Princess" thing from the show Rosanne.. it was a Thanksgiving day episode.. haha I don't know if you have seen it. It was funny. Who ever thought you would get any real information from that show :-P Other than how to laugh. Loved your new video!
BTW, I've never been to New Echota -- so thanks for the pics. I have Native American blood in me too. Creek (Muscogee), not Cherokee. Have you seen the summer production in Cherokee, NC? That play was the greatest...makes you cry though. I guess that's why it was called the Trail of Tears. Anyway, thanks for finally giving us another video!!!!
Yes, I have seen that production. They recently changed the play, after all these years, so I haven't seen the new one. We got a videotape of the old one through Gary's network of friends(Not a bootleg, it's legit!)If you ever come this way to visit, stop by there and ask for Gary. He is the sweetest, most laid back guy in the world.--Lanette
i know when i got my 100th, i was sitting at the computer refreshing the page like every minute. that was like 3 days ago...i'm up to 110 now! eek! we're skyrocketing to YouTube fame!
