  • NAYC.

  • This makes me miss the old days. This is a fantastic video and always makes me smile, Bravo!

  • the song was fitting, but i think most ppl wanted to hear a tune from the game. great video, great game.

  • 1:17 haha at the backwards Cyan logo. I was at first like, "Nay? What?"

  • Now I know how a gerbil feels when it's inside one of those clear plastic balls. Great ride!

  • when the teaser comes out they should do a version of this in enhanced 3D for the theaters

  • I was so happy when I finally got to ride the rails..lol

  • Saveedro disliked this 29 times.

  • This song is a scandal. How can you ruin an exotic game like this with a popular rock song? Shame on you.

  • @bukheum: The same could be said about "The Wizard of Oz" movie with Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" album... except, no one would use the word "ruin" nor would they shame anyone for trying. Mute buttons were invented for a reason, I suggest you use it.

  • @Stquinn For the record... I used it :)

  • @Stquinn Actually, he has a point. The song sucks. The original atmosphere from Exile is part of what made the scene so awesome.

Comparing Dark Side of the Moon to Blur's "music" is like comparing "The Godfather" to "Get Carter."

  • @falariem If the song sucked, it wouldn't have climbed to #6 on the US rock chart. The original clip can be heard on the game disc and elsewhere on YouTube. Your choice. Furthermore, I never compared the song with DSOTM, anymore than I compared the video with The Wizard of Oz. If that is what you thought, then you have grossly misunderstood my point.

  • @Stquinn And for that I apologize. I'm shutting up now.

  • @Stquinn

People also like Dubstep, A horrible genre of music. But I do love this song. and I love Myst, So thank you for the video,

  • @bukheum Have you considered the possibility that years ago, the 3D artist making the clip for the game had deliberately synced it to this song all along?

  • i have myst, riven, and URU complete chronicles, and this ride alone makes me want to get exile.

  • @antlioneater This game is insanely good. A must if you like the first two!

  • i remeber riding this thing OVER AND OVER AND OVER

  • MYST 3d: coming soon

  • WUHOOOOOO !!!!!! WUHOOO !!!

  • LOL! yeah that was awesome! :) the song should have been part of the game as a hidden easter egg

  • 27 ppl didn't solve this puzzle :(

  • These games are brilliant.

  • que céu lindo!

  • when i painstakingly finished the puzzles then got up to the tower thing i was think like 'no way, they're not going to make me ride in those fragile glass ball things' and lo and behold, i was literally rolling through the age!

  • Puting Cool funkie music on an epic scenario will never be cool.

  • musik passt nur zum anfang.

  • This Contraption seems unnecessary.

  • i have always loved this part of the game. so i wanted to watch this vid, not expecting anything out of the normal. then came the perfect song to go with this ride! perfect choice, it really surprised me. Amateria is one of the best world's on Exile. I loved the beautiful way they mixed the setting sun with the storm in the distance. you even see lightning sometimes. i can see myself there relaxing and maybe fishing. thanks, great job.

  • @ladyamerias And maybe going for the occasional marble ride. :D

  • The beginning is Half-Life 2

  • @Josephdorf03 Um...no

  • @minja56 the teleporter machine, mayne

  • Holy $hit dude...you could NOT have chosen a better song to put to this. That was pure magic, what you did there.

  • No loop?

  • I SO wanna play this game after eating a full bag of you-know-what.

  • Check out my keyboard rendition of Yeesha's Joyride from Myst IV!

  • This is intensely INCREDIBLE!

  • Thumbs up if this video should be used as the perfect example of how to sync a song to your video content.

  • When I played this on the PS2 years ago, I was FREAKING OUT at that part... I was afraid I was gonna die! XD Oh man... best of Exlie. Very creative Cyan!

  • god, when i played the game, i had never expected that i would be the ball! XD

that was my favourite age *-*

  • from the guys who made the blue-ball machine comes the amazing YOU-ball machine

  • Probably the most surprising and rewarding moment in adventure games history.

At the time I was playing MYST III for the first time I remember thinking: "Ok, so the yellow one won't work either, let's try the blue one... wait. What's happening? Oh, you've got to be ***ing me"

  • @zygia totally :) me too. it didnt even dong on me until that thing started sealing it off with you still in it and the thing started moving. i was like okay lemme out first.

  • So that's what its like to be in a pinball machine...

  • Very well done, fantastic! The music is perfect with that what's going on at the screen. VERY VERY WELL DONE, RESPECT!!!

And, by the way, the game ist also fantastic...

  • Now I know what it feels like to lose your virginity through your eyes.

  • Beautiful game can't wait for it to be built in real life

  • The graphics for this game were beyond its time... Great game anyone know what the newest game was? Or are there even more than one?

  • @scoobyfan2009 The newest -and last game is Myst V: End Of Ages. But it's not even half as great as Riven and Exile.

  • what do you do in these myst games? all ive seen is a 1:45 speed run so it must not have much depth

  • @tambTV: You could technically beat the entire game (the original one) in that much time if you knew what the main puzzle was. The only way you could know this (minus GameFAQs) would be to play through the much longer game.

The speedrun is what you could do had you played the entire game before which takes hours and hours and hours..

Hope that helps. Search for RealMyst which is a remake in full 3d if you wanna play it. Good stuff.

  • Check out my rendition of Yeesha's Joyride from Myst IV!

  • the best part is the "jumpball" part. it's so cool!

  • that was awesome! when i rode it in my exile game, i wanted to do it again, and now i can!

  • I do not even want to think how long it took for this to be rendered... :/ Render cloud ftw!

  • no, not that awful music to this, please.

  • Actually it was developed by presto and published by ubisoft.

  • I like the song, I like the ride, and the song fits well with the ride. Not with the game, but hey, it's a clip about the ride, so it's good!

  • Second best game in the series. Nothing beats Riven :D

  • Myst and Blur... Not a mix you see everyday, but it's actually quite good ^^

I'm just glad, that music doesn't appear in the game, that would kind of spoil the atmosphere :9

  • where was the Cyan logo?

  • @StoneRainStudios Watch the video lol? xD

  • are these ages basically parallel worlds?

  • it's more like

Hey whats going on wait oh blarghhhhgghggghg.....barfs all over the ice ball for five minuts.

  • Great fun, love this game.

    Dumb song, yay mute.

  • One wonders if this would be as good if synched up with "Magic Carpet Ride". I have no video skills, but anyone here willing to give it a shot?

  • It was always worth solving those puzzles for a fun roller coaster ride.

  • "Atrus you MAD GENIOUS!"

  • Congragulations! You've completed the puzzle! Now die. Bwahahaha.

Imagine you were really there. My reaction upon sudden realization would have been; "Atrus you crazy son of a- WAAAAAAA!"

  • CYAN logo is the single best logo intro in the entire universe. The concept of innocent playfull music followed by a serious orchestra hit is like cavafys poems. You watch (read) unsuspected the surface when suddently a single visual (word) takes you in a split second to the deepest seriousness of the divine. And all CYAN games were simply divine and full of genious talent and meaning.

  • @AkaMouTinn

I always let the intro play through when playing the Myst games! It brings you in to the beautiful, epic atmosphere of Myst, the best game series ever made :)

  • *Fav-ed*

Really, the addition of that music was just...perfect. Lol

  • If a theme park had this ride, id never leave

  • :D That looks fun!

  • Awesome song on Guitar Hero 5, Love Myst, Love you Guys

  • Voice: "Please keep all hands and legs inside the sphere at all times. Enjoy your ride."

  • @SpyMaster356 'keep all hands and legs inside ...THE SPHERE... hehe, you're a funny guy ;)

  • For one moment I thought the game had such a stupid song!

  • This is the best Version of that Ride I have seen. Thank you

  • Would you mind if I used this for a Motion Capture experiment? I would love to add titles of credits along the track, swooshing past. :D

  • your kidding, they really used that song for this game!? WTF!

    >:O

  • @xXlilgraham2Xx No they did not use the song ingame. It just happened to fit perfectly! :D

  • Really Tasty thanks for uploading

  • I think the music fit this really well, it's a little out of place for a Myst game but it really worked for me. And yes, Amateria is one of my favorite Ages to date.

  • you really ruined this with that crap music, aside from tht, pretty cool

  • ... shit music ... but cool ride!

  • awesome touch with the "NAY"... wonder if CYAN did that architecture on purpose ;)

  • @madhatt3r111 It's not really a Cyan logo, just a c-shaped structure by coincidence.

After Riven, Cyan didn't develop a Myst game until Uru (and Myst V). Myst III was developed by Presto Studios (the Journeyman Project guys)

  • Really didn't need garish music slapped on top of it.

  • It's like that song was made for that scene in Exile. I remember being so frustrated by that long puzzle but as soon as the coaster started my frustrations went out the window. I only wish that coaster existed in real life...

  • Check out my rendition of the Myst theme!

  • веселуха-хоровод:D

  • they should figure out a way to make public transport work like this lol.

  • @phantom12321 lol xD i'd trade in my car for an every day crystal globe coaster ride to wherever i need to go any time! xD

  • i love amateria it makes me feel like im back home in japan :) good work cyan

  • there should be a coaster like that in RCT3

  • I love how the music is synched with the vid. I wish I had this game...

  • If there was a real roller coaster like that, I would SO ride that!

  • This game is awesome, even better than Myst 2, and it looks so rediculously good, 10 years ago people could pre-render stuff we cant render in real time today. This is probably the best game I've ever played along with Riven.

  • wooohoo

  • You absolutely ruined this video using Song 2. Fail.

  • Figuring out this puzzle for the first time is SO Rewarding!

The CYAN logo was a nice touch.

  • i find it is the best game from the Myst serie but I'm not further !

  • Best game ever :D

  • @lukacho999 Song 2 - Blur

  • i had a dream like this

    fucking creepy

  • @raineko98 what was it like? I figured out how bad water parks are: Costliness. My sister had a dream of a roller coaster inside giant metal pipes going every-which-way like MC Escher. I'm never riding roller coasters. they're...dangerous.

  • @machiner6

    i was on a boat

sent me underwater that part was cool

  • fixing problems with the mouse with Alt Tab: /watch?v=37iSsHJLLoM

  • Good music taste and we have done myst at school! It is really fun trying to solve the barrel puzzle and everything!

  • This is got to be the best video game cut scene in the history of gaming, right?

  • I love these games, and have completed them all. Good job matching this great song to the video, they go great together!

  • I loved this age sooooo much! This was my favorite part in the whole game... I wonder if someone could build something like that in real life? O.o hmmm...

  • @jointheblueteam Even better, provide the opportunity to write your own Ages... :D

  • @jointheblueteam

I'm thinking it's time to open Myst themeparks GLOBAL! :D

  • @mystfanc81 ABSOLUTELY!

  • I SMELL RIDE AT SIX FLAGS

  • @jointheblueteam I can. Design it.

  • @jointheblueteam The coaster yeah but not the ice ball,

  • @jointheblueteam I could......

  • @traveese087 no, you couldn't

  • @jointheblueteam yeah, I couldnt get enough of the satisfaction this ride gave; I saved before it started and "rode" the rollercoaster over and over again.....

Then I get hammered at the end...... lol

  • Did anyone ever put the Pee Wee 'breakfast machine' music over this?

  • The best moment never in one game. Unforget.

  • As cool as that was, for me nothing can beat Riven's car ride across the tracks to the I think third island, the one with the boilers and all that.

  • The song is great, no doubt about it. But it is totally non-appropriate for this game with its subtle, vibrant, ambient and mysterious feeling. It just doesn't feel right for me.

  • Just got Exile. This really is one hell of an age.

  • yeah, this was by far the hardest age in the game. This scene was worth the effort though :)

  • Excellent choice in music.

man this was sooo cool when I finally completed the puzzles. Was so happy. lol And the ride was a awesome reward. :)

  • The greatest song ever for this video!!

very very good job, 5 STARS!

  • favorite and easiest age in my opinion. no where near as hard as that fucking foresty-tree one.

  • oh I'm dizzy

  • NICELY DONE! 5*****! :D

  • Man, I remember doing Amateria and after all of those annoying bits (I'm looking at you, force field puzzle), it felt so damn great to do this friggin' awesome ride.

  • @CopycatStudios I couln't agree more. It was a really cool reward for all the hell you had to go through in solving those evil puzzles. lol

  • the song worked perfectly!

at first, i was like "oh dammit, everyone uses this damn song for exciting shit", but the timing for various launches, and the ending all fit perfect with the music.

so uh, good job, and stuff.

  • Very dizzying. But I know what's happening, and makes it all so cool.

  • MOST FUCKING EPIC MOMENT IN HISTORY

  • sucks i half to make a Myst type game for school, i love Myst but I'm only one man, duplicating the same realistic effects is going to be hard.

  • Actually the song and scene match very well, much better than the bulk of music/scene overlays on you tube. Good job.

  • My thoughts exactly.

  • I feel like I'm going to throw up...

  • Fail xD

  • I remember when I first solved this. It was 3am in the college dorm room on my roommate's computer. I really felt in the moment as things started happening & I though "What in the....?" followed by "Oh Fu----!" & dropping! I now have a saved game all ready just to hit the button & ride off.

Admittedly, since I'm originally from MN, I really wish they did this for the "Mystery Mine Ride" at the Mall of America indoor park. I'd really like to see how they'd pull it off. I think they'd do well.

  • Wonderful Synchronicity.

  • That backwards "Cyan" is PRICELESS! lol

    5/5

  • Narayan is my favourite age

  • I like the song and video...but together :(

  • I also remember On a Imiga video about CGI stuff in the 90's my pal sitting in a chair and the person behind would move it about like a simulator to a similar viedo but the chair fell apart and he got a roasting hot cup of tea all down his throat and chest. Fucking hilarity thinking about it now. Oh how he sceam.

  • I wonder how much it would cost for them to build this as a real ride.

  • Far too much. I mean, they'd have to design the whole damn age, because everything is part of the ride. Disney World or something actually wanted to have a Myst area at one point, but plans fell through. :-(

  • is that so? I was a MYST fanatic when a kid, and I was 10 when going to Florida's disney world. If I'd known they made this for real, I would do anything to go!

  • i hope this soundtrack isn't in the actual game???

  • no...they isn't so crasy...eheheh

  • Why

  • Is it just me or did they specifically make this ride to go along with this music? I see a lot of coincidences like this but holy crap it was almost 100% of perfect video sequences and chorus the whole 2 minutes. Well... almost...

  • The music was added by whoever it was who posted this vid. The original has no music....until after the ride. Also, the description is wrong, the spoiler is still there.

  • no, I think the spoiler in question is the part where it shows the Narayani symbols at the end, and the scene of those being shown is blacked out by the credits.

  • My favorite ride of the game :D

1:17 I see what you did there XD

  • space mountain got nothin on this shit

  • my favourite game! :D

  • lol Cyan xD

  • Dude thats like a giant hamster ball

  • Is that song actually played during the gam. Fan of the computer version

  • no it isn't.

  • Amateria. Best Age of all myst series for me. Best architecture of a puzzle-age as a whole. Three puzzles involving a same sphere, and you dont know that you are gonna BE that ball. So, Best pay-off for solving one age in myst history, (and what do you think of Theme from Amateria tune?- finesse..)

  • Yes, Jack Wall did a fantastic job. I have the soundtracks for both Myst and Riven, but the soundtrack for Exile wasn't out yet when I ordered them. For anyone who wants it, just Google "Amateria Theme" and download the first hit.

  • i solved this puzzle by accident, randomly...

  • 3rd ride: Ball gets jumped around. "Whoa! Ungh!"

End: "Ungh!" Ball slides right, *whiirrrrrr", shield vaporizes, stranger raises handles to lock it in place.

  • *Beep* Arm moves, control panel sinks down and two hooks detach

    [Stranger: Uh...what's happening?]

Arm moves forward and spins around orbiter.

[Whoa! I made this machine become an ice ball!]

    Pulls orbiter up,

    [Now what?]

    Releases.

[Wow! I'm on a roller coaster through everything I repaired! I haven't had this much fun since Six Flags! Wheeeeeee!!!!!]

  • Actually, I think it's more like:

"Well that was easy, now wha-"

    *Arms rotate, panel flips back*

    "Wait, did those just unhook?"

*arm comes down to generate the ice ball*

    "What're you doing?"

    *rolls forward*

"Oh you've gotta be kidding me.... I'm so-"

    *ball drops*

    "OH %$#&!"

  • lmao! That's almost exactly what I said when it first happened to me. lol!

  • @DespairNemesis I rly shouted that " OH &¤%#/! " When ball dropped :'DD

It felt so real! It's the only reason why I play this game over and over again - The rollercoaster.

    I just..

    simply love it!

  • @DespairNemesis I can't believe this actually got highest voted.

  • Comment removed

  • While the entire game is brilliant, I think this has always been my favourite part of Exile. Every time I play it, I always save right before I finish that last puzzle, just so I can do it again.
