i used to get creeped out by these types of feature presentation logos years ago, and actually, I'm still scared of them. In fact, as a kid, if I were sitting on the floor in my room near my bed, I used to be afraid of the purple version of this Feature presentation logo hiding behind on one corner of the bed and the 90s Walt Disney Home Video logo on the other. Not that I THOUGHT that, I was just afraid.
I immediately expect the old Walt Disney Pictures theme to play right after this. (Kind of like how you expect the Star Wars fanfare right after the 20th Century Fox theme)
@HysteriumMMXI I actually was inspired from movies. I still have my dream of becoming a Director/Producer/and Writer of my own film studio. But it's not just film and technology.
I remember as a little kid, I was sleeping over my cousin`s house, and I was watching this movie in the playroom basement with all the lights off. (Note - I didn't own the 1999 The Rescuers VHS yet) I was so scared of this, since I was so used to the light blue version!
when i was little i had a dream that there was a guy playing a violin and being chased by big bird on the words and at the end the guy falls backwards and almost flips backwards like this. ll_i 0
This was taken from all Disney VHS tapes back in the 90's along with the light blue version, but the music sounded familiar to the bumper used on WPIX-TV's "Movie Greats" that "tapthatt2012" posted. They first used the bumper music during a commercial break before they used the same variation of the music for the "Feature Presentation" bumper.
@livinlarge18 Yeah, and what's even worse was that after this played, the Walt Disney Classics logo played - with distorted music, due to a video processing error. In fact, the distorted version was on WDC videos from that point onward.
I'm glad I didn't encounter the Navy Blue variant, I think the original is creepy enough.
@FamilyGuyFanatic800 It's a variation of an original music used on WPIX-TV's "Movie Greats" and "Movie Matinee" bumpers when it was used for a commercial break back in the mid to late 80's before they used that one. "tapthatt2012" posted that bumper as well.
you're not alone, when i was younger, I always had my parents fast forward through the previews while I hid in their room, I didn't even want to look at the logo!
wow, and i thought i was insane lol. But its not just the FP logo, theres the others w/ the same music and lettering that appear really fast and loud, it gives me a heart attack. Thank goodness they dont use em on todays dvds.
And guys, just to let you all know, this FP, the 1999-2006 logo, or even the "alternate" 1994-2000 "Flashbang" logo didn't appear on JUST Dinsey releases., this logo among the other two can be seen on other Buena Vista subsidiary releases, such as releases from Hollywood Pictures, Miramax Films, Touchstone Pictures, and so on.
This was THE first Feature Presentation logo in the "script" font, introduced in 1991. Beginning in 1992, the better known variant with the purple background was used from then until 1999.
@kungfujiapple Yep! I have this VHS tape, and it was the first one to use the "Feature Presentation" bumper rather than the gold version. The gold "Feature Presentation" bumper came before that.
@RandomVideos81813 wait! i know what exact year that was in. 1992. This Midnight Blue Feature Presentation logo was found in the 1992 vhs of the rescuers.
the music scares me like crap.

I did the regular version of this logo, but cut the fanfare and added the Barbour/Langley jingle from the end of COPS. I did it to the 1994 logo too.
