  • One of my favorite songs...I love to sing Connie Smith!!!!!

  • Yep, Radio Two this morning, wife in Asda shopping, me listening to the radio in the car. What a beautifully typical early 60's song. Brilliant.

  • @fatman7278 Ha, you heard it too..Good old Brian Matthew !!

  • I thought I had heard most 60's songs, but I heard this for the first time this morning on the radio....what fabulous voice & song. It's now one of my favourites. Thank you for posting

  • Only issue I have with this video is the sound quality. The song is supposed to be in stereo but we're only getting one channel of it. The accompanying singers and half the instruments are not heard. Would be nice if this could be redone in true stereo. Great song, though, about those yesteryears when the transistor radio was our entertainment. news, music, and how we learned about the world outside of where we lived.

  • Again - another brilliant song from Connie. I used to have a tiny blue transistor radio about 1966 or so but could only listen to it under the blankets in bed at nights as I wasn't allowed to have one!

  • ...I'm old I have no idea how I missed this back then .

...27/08/11 I found it ...I was just sitting and grinning when my cat jumped up ,for loving's to the beat .

...Strange ,I thought she only liked ABBA .

  • my aunt used to sing this, I miss her RIP aunt Tine I love you

  • I still have my tiny blue transistor radio ! They were "in" back then. Thanks for posting this nice video.

  • No doubt one of Connie greatest hits (and she's had many). This song is immortal !

  • omg i love this song. American country musicians bring joy to us in the caribbean

    megapettern 2011

  • i wore out an 8 track with this song on it.....gotta love the oldies

  • I love that little skip in her voice.

I wonder what the musical notation for that would be?

  • love this song ty for posting great voice

  • hey ! i had one of these little id ones in the early 60s haha

  • My favourite female C&W singer ever!!!! Thanks for your posts...memories galore listening to her songs...WOW!!!!!

  • would like to hear this song with the backup singers it sounds better, but this is excellent

  • My Favorite Connie Smith Song. Thanks For Post. I Believe It Was Dolly Parton Who Once Said There Were Only 3 Female Singers In The World. Connie Smith; Barbra Streisand; And Emmy Lou Harris. Dolly Said Rest Of Female Singers (Including Herself) Were Just Impostors. What A Compliment To Connie And Rightly Deserved!!

  • Love Connie's wonderful & powerful voclas. Thanks for posting.

  • Love Connie's sweet and powerful vocals. Thanks for posting.

  • This is the greatest song ever. Partly because I love Connie. And most of all because the words are TRUE with respect to my life. I bought my girl a transistor radio, it was 34 years ago. We got married, with 2 children. She died 12 years ago. I never got married again. And I always listen to this music to calm my heart. To me: CONNIE IS AN ANGEL. My wife is dead. But this song gives me life. THANK YOU CONNIE.
  • one of the best songs i grew up with.just love it .thanks for putting it out there.we need more music like this

  • this song always brings memories

  • I LOVE YOU, CONNIE.

    I SURE DO.

    LIKE YOU WILL NEVER KNOW.

I WISH I HAD MET YOU.

    I HURT WITHOUT YOU.

  • Yes, the song was recorded in stereo btw....this is missing an entire channel. I have the mono 45 rpm of this song and it has more music to it than this

  • I didn't remember this song from when it first came out but it was apparently re-released about 10-12 years and got a good bit of art-time.

  • I was only a little girl when I first heard this song back in South America, here 50 years later, I am still in love with it, Connie is such a terrific singer and I am so happy for her that she is has been married to Marty Stuart for so many years..... Lisa

  • I'm not sure so dont hold me to it, but I believe the song wasnt recorded in stero.

  • Would somebody please post this song with the audio correct?? This version is like one channel of a stereo. About half of the music and backup singing is missing.

  • Great Voice! my Favourite Female Country Artist

  • I love this! It immediately draws me back to the sixties when just about everybody was singing about their transistor radios!

  • I have to tell you I was a DJ at WVMI Radio in Biloxi, Mississippi when this came out. i was dating a girl from Gulfport, Mississippi at the time and was thinking this was the girl for me. Well, her Father liked this song and I played it over and over for him to get on his good graces. It must have worked because three months after I met Ann, I married her, and interesting enough, that was 45 years ago.

  • I don't understand ... It's not the original song .... Where is the steel ? And the vocals choruses ? Nothing to do with the song I love so ! Beautiful song written by Bill Anderson ... All you fans, listen too to "I love Charley Brown" ... Best regards from a great Belgian fan !

  • Connie is simply one of country's greatest. Now married to Marty Stuart. It's always great seeing her on the Ole Opry or other shows. Still a super singer.

  • these songs never get old...i love it

  • as a kid of the 90's I can't believe we don't get to listen to music like this anymore!
