I've found one of the best way to dodge said videos is as follows.

Located at the top left of your screen is a green left arrow which can actually be pressed. Amazingly this directs you away from the video.

All you need do to is hover the mouse over the arrow while clicking your left mouse button.

This will bring you away from said video back to your previous place.

if u manage to get a scoped weapon (sniper) before the shower cutscene begins, you can step up to the door so u have a view on the shower, but do not step too far otherwise the cutscene will be triggered. u'll get a nice view.

Just wondered how usefull the Adaptec was. I would like to record some console games myself. I dont think the Adaptec is available in the UK, so i would have to import one. Does it come with the adaptors needed to attatch it to usb and to console. Is it simple to use (i.e. for a dimwhit like me?).

It's good for recording. I think if you ever record though, try & get a set-up that you can play from your tv because it lags on the computer. There should be videos on how to do that on youtube.
