Thanks for the demo. This looks like one smooth gun to fire.I am looking forward to purchasing mine next week.Found a gun shop that sells the SR 9 $30 cheaper than the Glock 17
Hey ryan, just picked up my new ruger sr9, it took me about 25 min to realize how smart of a pistol system this gun really is, anyway thought I drop by and say what's up ! Keee low, keep movin, and stay on point SDM out !!
I agree this is a fantastic sidearm, I sold mine a week ago nearly 6 months old and only 100 rounds through it. But luck should find me the person that purchased it from me needed cash and I bought it right back woo-hoo!
Hey RyanJcus you must've been one of the first few to get Ruger SR9s, because they got recalled for free and fixed for free. You missed out on a Really good gun in my honest oppinion.
But, have fun with whatever you consider your sidearm now.
I own a post recall SR9. Ive had no problems what so ever. It's quite accurate in my hands. I like the SR9's slim feel. The SR9 fits my hand better then my Glock17. That suck your didn't work out for you. With most new guns there's a few bugs to work out. Im confident Rugers got it calibrated properly now. Im sure there's gonna be a SR40 and SR45 soon.
yes its a good gun. dont let the recall discurage you. its was a BS recall that should not have been done. At no time did the company say it had a drop safety and previous buyers should have been aware, if not, thats there fault....I generaly HATE Ruger because of there construction but this is one hot pistol!
I own a post recall sr9 and have a no problems what so ever. I love this gun alot. It's solid, slim, accurate and affordable. Rugers worked out all the bugs. I recommend the SR9.
It really won't matter because the distance the bullet travels is much farther than anyone could be accuarte with a handgun. The only reson it would matter is if your were unsure of where your backstop is. Keep in mind that you are responsible for every bullet you fire and the damage it may cause, so you must know where your bullets are stopping. The velocity would be about the same since they are both 9mm and the barrels are basically the same length. Thanks
How far it will shoot accurately depends on caliber ammo and barrel lenght. The Glock17 (9mm) has a 4.49in barrel and the SR9 has a 4.14in barrel. Both are great guns. For me it comes down to what fits my hand better.Thats the SR9 for me.I own a post recall no problem what so ever.Rugers got all the bugs out the SR9 now. For a affordable quality get a SR9. If u got a few extra bills u could get a Glock and no ammo or a SR9 and some ammo. Buy AMERICAN.
i dont really like that gun... i can never tell when my bullets are up!! i pull the trigger like 3 times after the bullets are gun! i like glocks the lock back.
To tell you the truth, I'm not 100% positive, but I'm pretty sure it was something to do with the slide catch(maybe being a little bent). There could be a few different reasons. I tried alot of different things to fix the problem including tinkering, fieldstrip, cleaning, oiling, different ammo, switching mags out, and more. The problem kept occuring. Also when I would put a mag in,slide would automatically go forward with out me causing it. Overall I was not happy and retuned it.Recalled THANKS
Yessy856.......You gotta oil it !!!!...I had mine for a couple years and never had a rust problem because I keep it well oiled.

What did you like better Glock or Ruger?
CMLovejoy 2 years ago
Dude, squeeze the trigger, dont pull it. You can see how much travel the gun had when your SR9 failed to lock the slide back and you dry fired.
