Nice! I JUST got a Trumark Folding Slingshot and was shooting at a box about 12 inches tall and 5-8 inches wide and I probably would've hit 2 out of 10 shots. I stink LOL.
HOW DO YOU HAVE SUCH AMAZING ACCURACY?!?! OUT OF TEN SHOTS AT AN APPLE I GOT 4. I don't have even as close as good as equipment as you, just a bowl of marbles, a spendy slingshot, and an apple. Nice job. *****
I am afraid it is not that simple, it is like a bow, there really is no method of aiming. The best I can say is don't look down the forks, just "feel" and with enough practice you will become a good instinct shooter.
I recorded the audio of the first shot via audacity. Zoom in on the two blips that show up, the first blip is the shot and the second blip is the hit. Count the time between the two blips, it comes to about
.085 seconds. Divide .085 by 18, it comes to .005. Take 1 and divide it by .005, this time I came to exactly 200 fps. I may have recorded a different shot last time.
Thats some pretty good shooting Ethan. I like your back stop, and the way you recover your ammo. I still think that if you use ,44cal. 200grain lead balls you will get better penetration and accuracy. But to each his own. Your a pretty good natural shooter anyway. If you do change slingshots it will take some time to get used to the new one. Good work, and good videography. Thanks. Your a champ in my book.
Thanks brainscar. I might try the .44 caliber balls someday, but with these RR2 bands the larger .50 caliber balls seem to be traveling a good 200 fps at least, but the only way to know which is better is to try both out. But how could the .44 caliber balls be 200 grains when the .50 caliber balls are 175 grains?
Most people make their lead ammo, but if you have a good backdrop like I do buying it won't cost you too much in the long run. I bought the ammo at a local sporting goods store, 100 lead balls for 15 dollars. So you better have a good backdrop for it to be affordable. Every lead ball you damage or lose is 15 cents.
Stupid

@blazerx47 What is stupid? My title was, "Slingshot Target Practice", and it delivered. You clicked it, so don't complain.

That is not so bad, an apple is pretty small. Just keep shooting, you will keep getting better.

Nice shooting comrade :)

if you can find some old carpet try placing that behind the canvas it should help in slowing down the shot

Nice shooting. Do you hunt with your slingshot or just target practice? If so what is the primary game that you hunt?
D0zer74 2 years ago
I just target practice. I am thinking it could take down small game if I wanted to.
EthanJM 2 years ago
do you ever do any hunting?

Good Shooting...how did you come up with your velocity of 200fps?
kybowtye 2 years ago
Ok, I just did it again so I could remember.
