  • @musicalchix I saw it a few weeks ago and i too cried.. this scene is pure magic!

  • I saw the Australian version of this in melbourne, it was mind blowing. Accept at the end she flew into the the audience on this wire thing. I was balling my eyes out. The show had Philip Quast in it BTW as george banks that was just a bonus. :)

  • @musicalchix ".. and this being my last, I guess it was an amazing way to end the experience."

What do you mean by that?

  • @darthvalor07 I was simply refering to the fact that it was my last broadway show that I would see for a long time, and I still haven't seen one since. :)

  • @musicalchix you talk as if your going to die and its the last ever time you will get to go to the theatre. People just read your comment with that in mind!

  • was she on wires?

  • @madz3333 yes four wires and a flight path wire too which is a bit like a zip wire only it goes up and it has wheels which track her along and up and out over the audience

  • Its way better on Broadway. Its pretty cool considering she flies over the audience.

  • just before the kids say "we'll never forget you mary poppins!" they both look as though they're gonna sneeze!! LOL, it made me laugh :P

  • aha i was friggin THERE!!! :D

  • the lad playing Michael Banks in this video is now one of the olivers in the West End production of Oliver.

  • the little boy playing Michael in this video is now playing Oliver in the west end production of Oliver along with Jodie Prenger as Nancy!

I met him at the stage door when the show was on tour!

  • I'd do anything to try something like that!

  • so woud i ...... at the o2 arena now thats a flight ....i can just emagen ....mary poppins live staring the first drag mary lol

  • i find it sad in away coz Merry Poppins will no longer be touing in the uk again as it is to big and cost tomuch money to tour. so its a sad goodby to a grate show

  • 0:12 i think i can fly

  • I saw it in Edinburgh and I was amazed when she flew!

  • When i saw this and she flew out like that, I was just in awe.

  • I WANT TO SEE THIS

  • does she fly in the audience for this one?

  • i saw this last night (at Cardiff), it was AMAZING, i was on DD, which because of the orchestra pit was front row. on the kinda sides, and 2nd row more in the middle and she came right over us!

i really want to see this again!

  • it closed last night

  • i no... =(

i watched it in cardiff on wednesday 15th

  • did she not fly over the audience? she did each and every time i saw it on tour and she does it on Broadway

  • I think the wires for her flight over the audience were broken this performance.

  • She did fly over the audience.

If the wires were broken she would not have flown, it's too much of a risk, they check them before the show. If she gets stuck they have to lower her manually into the stalls/circle/wherever she is, the auditorium has to be evacuated and depending how long it takes, they have to decide whether or not to let the audience back in for curtain calls, or just end the show.

  • Good point. I was only guessing, though. I heard that it's a thing for this theatre only.

  • What was? She flew over the audience at every venue :)

  • Oh, right. Anyway, I'm curious why she didn't in the video (or didn't appear to)?

  • She did haha. From what I can remember, the person that filmed it was sat at the back of the stalls in the middle... The flight path in Edinburgh was from stage right to stage left, then diagonally over the audience up to the grand tier on stage right. the circle is hanging over though, you can't see her go up.

  • Oh, now I see that she just goes over the Stalls (or what Broadway theatres call the Orchestra), like she does in the other productions of the show (at least the Broadway and West End ones)

  • yep, her flight path was different for each tour stop depending on the theatre :)

  • they might not of bin able to in that venu. wen thearters were built about 100 years ago they didn't think that merry popins was gona fly out over the audience. niver did they think the same for Chity Chity Bang Bang.

  • she flew over the audience when i saw it..

  • That is one of the best Mary flight videos I have ever seen!

  • the flight is a lot better than this on Broadway because on Broadway its a lot faster and she makes a bigger dipper over the orchestra pit which is more thrilling and she gets a lot closer to the seats compared to this where she is to high

the flight on tour could of been better in my opnion and i saw it four times from many different seats

  • Comment removed

  • yes the tour flight was great but Broadway is miles better and she flies much closer on Broadway than on tour

  • is this Manchester or Edinbrugh please?

  • what does she do with her Ummbrella at 0:35 ?

i saw her do this when i saw it but never understood why?

  • She turns it as if to catch the wind to change direction so she can come out into the audience. I think.

  • oh right I see thanks

  • amazing thanks for posting a bit diffrent from when i saw it in birmingham

  • Yeah the flying is different at most venues, in Birmingham she went across the stage and then up in a straight line, in Edinburgh she went across and the over to the left hand side of the auditorium, in Manchester it was simillar to Birmingham. Not too sure about Cardiff

  • It was amazing when i saw it in Birmingham by chance do you have the final flight with Caroline Sheen as Mary f you have please could you upload it thanks for posting these wonderful clips

  • in Cardiff she goes up to the middle of the stage and then across the auditorium to the left upper circle...just like in Edinburgh I guess...
