Hope people will be learn about this experience. Before availing any loan you should not hesitate to ask questions to make clear about the policies implemented on the loan you are availing.
Yikes, I that's pretty frightening. I grew up in the Ealing borough and know that my generation of friends and family cannot afford to live there and have been forced to live outside and even to other parts of the UK.
Thanks for posting this on youtube, I remember watching this program shortly after a broker tried to get me to lie about my salary on a mortgage application (unsuccesfully!). I asked him about the show afterwards and he said it was "no big deal", "everyone was doing it" and the show was just "good TV". No-one can say there were no warnings about this....least of all the Government.
so how manyt who lied about their self certification went to jail

So this was made in what 2003. and the press was slow to catch on, which means that it has been going on probably since 1999-2000?

This explains the UKs wrecked economy and why HBOS had to be bailed out.
The day after this program was broadcast I sold my HBOS shares. Although
for five years the facts seemed to have been completely ignored in 2008 it was
shown that this was the sensible thing to have done.
Did no one in the Government see this program ? If they did why on earth didn't they do anything about the fraud that was uncovered ?

Some financial institutions allow this as "Projecting Your Future Financial Income",
with the help of your accountant!.
That was OK 10 years ago as the economy was good in Ireland and the UK.
Not now!!!!
