I thought shutting off the engine right away was a hold over from the leaded fuel days, when you would shut the engine off right away so that you could get an accurate fuel mixture read from the sparkplugs. Driving the car back to the pits would screw up the read because the idle would be so rich from driving back. Leaded fuel would leave different deposits than the "clean" fuels of today. Just wondering.
He shuts the car off because of habit, he used to run a super stock motor that was very fragile, so the less time it was running the better, the car does have a radiator and stays retry cool with the water pump on
How does this clutch work? I noticed that you let the clutch pedal out before you actually leave....... Are you running a delay box as well? I NEED this setup....lol. I'm a GM guy but gotta love the 70 Duster. Very cool vid.

@aaaaariiiiielllll Its an all out drag car, they are only meant to run a few seconds, and most dont run a radiator so it could over heat.

The car does have a delay box, there is an air piston on the clutch fork , the delay box controls the air piston
