for someone with small hands, he tackles the octaves in Baba Yaga incredibly. you better pray to never end up in the same competition as this kid in a few years!
Someone suggests this player has 'potential'. Well, artists can always improve, but this one is already speaking with some authority.
Another suggests he needs to find more 'feeling'. Maybe - but what we hear now is no mere purveyor of notes. I sense great passion and understanding in his playing.
When a 12-yo youngster plays like this, it seems to me that he exalts our species: the wisdom of ages is already evident in his music, and we should be grateful for his industry and talent.
everybody keeps saying this kid is good "for his age". the kid would be good if he was 50!!
JeeZ did you hear him play appasionata's
3rd mov't. sure he could be better just as anyone can. he's going to progress but he's already at mastery status. if he progresses anymore he just be above mastery. who gives a fuck about dynamics anyway as long as it doesnt interfere with the tempo.
he's got the technical shit on lock, the rest is just sensitivity, basically easy stuff
In 2009 there are many international music competitions. I would be glad to see him in some of them. He will reach the minimum age to the participation...
I would agree. Techincally brilliant, but expressivly lacking. As one of my music teachers used to remark, "If you can't hear the notes neither can the audience". I think he has a (understandable) juvenile urge to play faster just because he can. Give him a few years and he will be a household name without a doubt.

Technically brilliant for his age, however, he has no idea what this piece means, he plays it with no maturity. If he kept going, I'm sure that would pass with young age, and he'll make an amazing pianist.
boy, you are to young for this piece!! your technique is amazing and enough for this complicated piece, but not the knowledge and maturity! just learn and read, you will be a great pianist when you are older!!! go on and never stop learning! you are great!
This kids amazing!!! heheheehe. bit rushed, especially in the transitions between themes in the great gates and the 2nd to last repeat in of the theme in the left hand was not prominent enough. But good on you bro!!
This kid is very good, but is quite immature in his interpretation, e.g., louds and softs are inconsistent; Grace notes not attacked quickly enough; a general feeling of disjointedness with no powerful resolve at the end. Yet, he'll be heard from. I'm not writing him off!

OnGuardForPeace - Give the kid a break! He's freak'n TWELVE for crying out loud! He's a genius, and can play circles around your head! You must be JEALOUS! He doesn't NEED your biased opinion of his playing. His playing speaks VOLUMES! WHERE's YOUR vid playing this?
I DID say he'll be heard from, didn't I? I also said he was very good. That's a lot better than a lot of the TOTALLY negative comments on this classical ection of YOUTUBE.
Right, mattthetrumpeter, a lot of parents deserve a slap for letting the youngsters get away with giving up playing (including mine) too easily. You can't give your children a better gift than this: mastering an instrument.
I begged for piano lessons when I was young, but was told they couldn't afford it. Perhaps that was true, but now I'm struggling with the piano as an adult. I could also slap myself for not starting immediately after getting a job.
What a miracle from the Lord of Hosts! Where is he now?

Great playing, the triplet half notes in the finale were a bit off but still great!

I felt that baba yaga was a bit too fast... But I suppose thats why they call it an interpretation. Nevertheless, great playing.

Just because someone can play a difficult piece doesn't automatically make them a prodigy.....

Very excellent technical ability, there is real talent there. Much more feeling needs to go into the music, but that will come with age.
