  • What a great president!

  • what a weird president

  • Warren Harding had a house (built in 1907) on Magnolia Ave., Daytona Beach. It's now the Cellar Restr.

  • A man's deeds, not his words, are what counts; therefore, Harding stands tall, and in stark contrast to his often eloquent predecessor who was one of the worst presidents we've ever endured.

  • so i guess bill Clinton wasn't our first black president after all

  • It's been widely rumored/speculated that Harding had fairly strong black ancestry on both sides of his family. Supposedly his great-grandmother was black, which would make Harding 1/8 black (an "octoroon" in older racist terms) I found a website yesterday that had pictures of some of Harding's second cousins and it was pretty obvious they weren't all 100 percent white. Very interesting.

  • I know you made your comment 6 months ago, but if I may ask-which website was that? I've heard rumors about President Harding as well.

  • President Warren Harding was openly called nigger. In his 1920 campaign against Democrat James Cox it was derisively said, or sang: "While cox is on the front porch talking to the ladies; Harding's on the back porch washing nigger babies."

  • @procommenter Thank heaven we've progressed somewhat as a people.

  • Well, those nigger babies didn't mean much as Harding was elected by a LANDSLIDE.
