And I really don't care that much about how the UK runs it's affairs, I'm Canadian, and we are never going to be part of the European Union. Having Her Majesty and Her Majesty's dynasty providing a stable, independent, Canadian head of state does and has done a lot to keep our sovereignty in existence. Not 100% sure how it works over there though.

I agree, I always used to- well- not LOOK UP to the royal family but kind of thought about them in awe, imagining what it'd be like to live their lives.
Now, however, I've come to realise that they do next to nothing, and are looked up for no other reason than birth. Plus, I've also become a lot more suspicious of them after listening to David Icke, whether his words are 100% fact or not ;)
