That seem to be a nice dish and I wonder if it will work with a motor? I am looking to get one soon to put up during this summer on a fence post like my Ku band dish. It would be nice to get local stations from around the country as you can't get them on the Ku band dishes.
@eldragonsd im in california too, and i am trying to do the same thing get c band with a sky antenna, this weekend im buying a c/ku lnb and try to point it to satmx 5 or galaxy,
where in california are you at? may be we can test diferent dishes and lnb
i just got a primestar 40" for a c band project, how did you attached the C Lnb to the arm? what i noticed is that you screwed the scalar ring into the bracket , right? im gonna try intelsat14, im in Central Florida. Any results with your 40 inches project??
Your right I screwed directly to the ring, it messed up the focal point (Ele. Weaker ssignals) so all I got were the VERY strong transponders on satellites at the top of my arc. But a GREAT feeling seeing my 1st C-band signals! Opened up a whole new world to me! C-Band is not dead!
This is very interesting! I love BUD's but moved to a suburban area and had to give away all mine :(
I assuming C-band satellites continue to become stronger and with digital signals they are a little more forgiving with smaller dishes. I had a 10ft and 6.5ft in the midwest and the 6.5ft never gave me problems with reception on analog or 4DTV. Can't wait to explore FTA on C and KU.
Maybe I should try to sneak a couple of these old Primestar dishes up past the HOA :-)
This is the type of satellite that lets you pickup, for example, the NBC national feed.

I want to know what kind of LNB you use for a 90cm dish for Sky.
