WHAT THE FUCK!!! This happens to me too! I have a fucking 750 Watt Corsair power supply, and a 5770, I get this sound in the loading screen too, but not in game! I can run Furmark and 3D mark and this doesnt happen!
That my dear friend is called a bearing. it's not greased properly, and probably off level as well, which means that at some point if spun high enough the fan on your card could pop off, and do some real dmg, not to mention overheating your GPU.
My recommendation, go turn the sucker in, and get something else.
that's weird, i have an msi gts 250 twin frozr, and the same thing happens in the crysis demo when starting it up. It scares me so much i'm not going to buy crysis....it doesn't happen in any other games....
I think its the graphics card. When I run 3DMark it goes funky crazy sound on some of the tests.
It could be the power supply though not providing enough power to the graphics card. I dont actually experience any problems with the card, it runs Crysis on Very High everthing (at 1280x1024 8AA) never gets above 56'C in temp it just makes funny sounds. Oh also my TVOut doesnt work on the card and Gainward are a shit company to deal with.
This happens to me too...
It doesnt sound good at all....

Im running a 1100 psu and a Nvidia 295 gtx.
So I really doubt its my power :P But idk, only makes the noise starting crysis

Sounds like coil whine, but extremely loud! check which coils are whining (by placing a plastic stick on the coils) any apply some glue /w glue gun.

So you suggest buying the card not from gainward?? Asus / evga for example??

I had the same problem. Not only in Crysis, but in nearly every app that put a global stress on the whole rig.
I actually eneded up noticing that the sound came from the PSU - it was beeing stressed to close to its limits (or over it).
Try upgrading your PSU, it worked out for me.
Hope this helps,
Fernando
