It's a good style, and these companies have utilized that same style to create a game that people will enjoy. Why mess with a good thing?
Its not that its a bad stlye. Its that look at the last 3 action games that came/or coming out. Bayonetta took a lot from DMC, darksiders took a lot from GOW, and now dantes inferno is taking a lot from GOW. We want some originality. Look at DMC compared to GOW. 2 completley dif. great games, just in same genre. Why dont developers do that? And when it is so close to say GOW than when your playing it you feel like its GOW with lacking some things

For gods sake God of War is not the first game of its kind. And personally I think this game is a lot more original. In God of War the plot is to kill kill kill. The only catch is that you are killing people, gods and creatures from greek mythology that if I may say just seem to pop out randomly. This game seems to have a fuller, richer plot that allows for more creative level and character designs.
I've been reading up on this game and the Divine Comedy for a little while now, and i have to say this game will most likely get a nomination for Game of the Year! I watched the Dev. its a great game but its got nothing to do with the real divina commedia (the book dante writes about his travelling through hell). in the book hes just passing hell (without killing) and hasnt got huge weapons or spells....
It's based on the book. But it's interpreted differently. Kind of in the way that The Strangers was based on a true story. But was so impossible that the creator had to admit it was only based on true story by the way that ringing the doorbell is sometimes a serial killer's method for finding out if X is at home.
Right, I understand that. In no way am I trying to oppose it, I'm actually very much anticipating the game myself. I was merely explaining because you know there's going to be loads of people who will play it and go "Wow this game is crazy, I be the real thing must be just as awesome", then go to read it and get bored before the end of page 2. All I was trying to do is spare people the trouble and let them know that there are several important differences to know and understand.
For those who are anticipating this game that have never read the actual Diving Comedy and have no intention of doing so, or instead want to BECAUSE of this game, here's a bit of a heads up...
1. Dante is a poet in the book, not a medieval crusader with crazy Kratos skills.
2. He is guided through Hell by Virgil, another poet.
3. Virgil leads him through Hell and shows him the different levels, sort of a walkthrough tour, so to speak.
4. Beatrice is NOT Dante's wife, merely a love interest.
5. There are no giant Cleopatra's and such, though there are Giants, but they're two completely different things.
6. The souls Dante interacts with in Hell, usually, speak with him casually and tell him their stories of how they ended up there, and ask him to let them be remembered back on Earth, THEY DO NOT ATTACK HIM AND VICE VERSA.
7. As has been said before, this is an ADAPTATION. Meaning, while it is heavily inspired by and directly based off of the Divine Comedy, it is DIFFERENT.
not some dark poet talking about hell, people want to kill demons, and damned souls. they want to see blood and guts and kill giant boss things and wreck havoc in the most darkest and most disturbing place known to man. Hell.

Right, I understand that. In no way am I trying to oppose it, I'm actually very much anticipating the game myself. I was merely explaining because you know there's going to be loads of people who will play it and go "Wow this game is crazy, I be the real thing must be just as awesome", then go to read it and get bored before the end of page 2. All I was trying to do is spare people the trouble and let them know that there are several important differences to know and understand.

For those who are anticipating this game that have never read the actual Diving Comedy and have no intention of doing so, or instead want to BECAUSE of this game, here's a bit of a heads up...
1. Dante is a poet in the book, not a medieval crusader with crazy Kratos skills.
2. He is guided through Hell by Virgil, another poet.
3. Virgil leads him through Hell and shows him the different levels, sort of a walkthrough tour, so to speak.
4. Beatrice is NOT Dante's wife, merely a love interest.

5. There are no giant Cleopatra's and such, though there are Giants, but they're two completely different things.
6. The souls Dante interacts with in Hell, usually, speak with him casually and tell him their stories of how they ended up there, and ask him to let them be remembered back on Earth, THEY DO NOT ATTACK HIM AND VICE VERSA.
7. As has been said before, this is an ADAPTATION. Meaning, while it is heavily inspired by and directly based off of the Divine Comedy, it is DIFFERENT.

Don't be a noob, both of the control are well design and i don't think that the 360 control suck on action game neither the ps3 control, i love the ps3. The problem is that you're just a low life living in your basement in your moms house and you can only think of playing 24 hrs every single week, so i think your just a sad little fat kid all alone. The fact that this game is based on an epic poem written several hundred years ago. A poem about hell. So if anything, Devil May Cry draws influence from Inferno (the name of the poem. Its called Dante's Inferno because the author is named Dante).

1) Kojima did not, NOT make the decision on going multiplatform, he's not his own boss you idiot, It's Konami who made that decision because without Metal Gear they are nothing, and Konami is money hungry.

3) Natal isn't anything groundbreaking, and it isn't going to replace the Wii. PS Eyetoy and Wii are the originals.
