  • Fantastic. Really captures the spirit of Pirates of Penzance!

  • I am SO glad I'm Kate; NO PIRATE-Y DANCING FOR ME!

  • the endin gshould have been a bit bigger

  • all right, I have to say you kind of lost the meaning of one of the lyrics in the Victorian era a life preserver (in addition to its modern meaning) was a small club, similar to a blackjack, commonly sold for self defence. Loved the Pinifore gag however.

  • Nice. good actors. :D

And having a great stage and such is always helpful too. lol, ours is awful. its not even a stage. xD

  • good!

  • Well done Iowa. This is a great production. Lovely singing.

  • Wow! So many other people doing PoP at their schools! Mine is doing it too, and I'm one of only three girl pirates... and we're all really short! The boys tower over us, lol... but it's so much fun to be a pirate! :D

  • asdf What is all this about female pirates and policemen? We're doing it at my school and our director was determined to make them all guys

  • Aw, I'm sorry, olltommyllo! Well, my school has girl pirates because we have such few guys in the drama department. :P I don't know about the other schools.

  • Haha yeah my school is short on guys too.

Actually, I just got back from my first policeman dance lesson and the men were struggling a bit- I don't think were quite flexible enough.

  • It honestly looks better that way, I think.

  • I like this version. It shows that this number can be done without elaborate dancing or staging. But the life preserver bit was hilarious.

  • I agree.

on my 4th night a samuel at my school, I replaced that with a huge decorated wooden spoon I had.

Or, I replaced it with something. I cant remember what it was now. lol.

  • I laughed so hard when the H.M.S Pinafore floatie was brought out! I thought that was brilliant!

  • our school is doing that play and i sing the solo

  • same what school do you go to?

  • Your voacls were good but I believe that it was lacking in energy. Ours had much, much more energy.

  • Im the Pirate King.. Its freaking awesome

  • We're doing it to. But not jr.

  • Oh don't worry, I was in Pirates of Penzance in February. All of our policemen were girls, and they all loved it, or most of them...I did hear some complaining about the boob tape...

  • im also panicxxxfreak.. anyway.. we didn't take it that far, we wore very loose fitting costums.

  • yes, all of our police are girls too, even some of our pirates are girls. luckily non of the sisters are boys. :D haha.

  • Liked the vocals but not the choreography. The life preserver was a very clever touch.

  • Very good.suitably noisy. A lot of productions don't realise that this is the loudest number in the show.

  • I graduated from UI in Percussion and performed sooo many operas whilst htere -- I love that you added this! Is Bill Hatcher still teaching there? He was my favourite to work with...I must have been the only percussionist that begged to work with women's chorale and anyhting vocal-oriented! Lovely work!

  • This was so much fun to watch when I went. You guys did a great job.

  • Great job with the base part, we were unable to belt it out in our school's presentation. Then again I like our pirates more so it is about even. great job however.

  • like the hms pinafore life preserver. ho ho ho

  • i love it.

    the samuel is good.

    amazing.

  • They even have a real ochestrea better than canned music.

  • Very nice indeed! Good ensemble work.
