1 Buffon: Did almost everything right (he was bad in the finale penaltys not like CL 2003). Number one reason Italy became the champ, they had Buffon in the goal.

2 Del Piero: Was dangerous in every match he played, his best game was against Germany.

3 Pirlo: Like always he was the director of the field.

4 Cannavaro: He was the captain, he was the director of the defenders.

5 Totti : You didn´t see him alot in the games, but he made is assists.

Best World Cup Team ever. I am not even Italian but I am a football fan. They had the best defense and midfield (watch the games and focus on Cannavaro, Gattuso and Pirlo) and a deadly offense (Totti , Del Piero, Toni, Inzagui, Gilardino). Maradona won 86 by himself and Spain won 2010 for different reasons but the 2006 squad is the best I have seen. From a Zidane fan...
