They changed their name to Windsor during WW2 for fears they might end up like their cousin in Russia and also to appeal to the public by sounding more british. Those who knows the history are aware of a foreign monarchies are running their day to day lives. Those who don`t know are ignorant of the facts....they sure had you fooled!!
