@bigbirdgrappler60 Funny story, my drumline actually did the same thing as an exercise, just more refined. We would pair snare drummers up, one with a snare on and one without, and one would march forward with the drum and play, the other would march backwards and play. Then, the one with the drum would go backwards and play, and the other without would go forward and play. Then, we'd switch drums and repeat. Plus, we played the full Chicken and a Roll, not just the first four measures repeated.

I've been to DCI and heard what a real drumline sounds like, but i got to tell you, you can call that a pathetic dirty 16 note roll pattern with horrible left hand slice, but it was suppose to be like that. It was to symbolize that he cant follow only lead, they wanted them to play dirty. But if you go to the real A&T drumline, you will understand. I from atl and heard the real drumlines... The west and got nothing close to that...only RCC
