Why does the gate in SG-1, and Atlantis look different from this gate?. Is the Gate in the series an upgrade or something?.

This would actually be the second activation of the gate (by humans), the first being in the early 50s or late 40s, but first appearance of its activation in the series.

It's the first ever to be SHOWN in the stargate universe... yes obviously it was used over a thousand times by Ra, Apophis, and so on.

Since the first time took place in the 40's when fiance old lady passed by Stargate and was in the galactic UN, unfortunately, on that planet, there was no DHD and could not return to Earth.

Actually, there was a DHD on the planet that Ernest was stranded on but it was damaged, making it impossible to operate. SG-1 had to manually dial Earth.

You right there was DHD, but destroyed so it was like will be not exist at all.

@PawelK198604 It was not destroyed at all, but one kept in a german secret base during the war (later claimed by the russians) and the other found along with the antartica gate.

Ernest Littlefield has experienced the first gate activation and started a latter failed mission on the planet Heliopolis... i'll love it beeing a stargate geek ;D

Funny in the shows the 7th chev. only does the locking the others just light up but in the movie the others move weird

yeah...the movie's even horizon does look more like water then the series one....Movie what....more budget...so the CGIs are a bit better....

@jerryfudala You clearly have'nt seen the series. You can send communication signals through stargates, ovbiously the drone sent a message back through. In theroy anything can go through a Gate that is if it can fit of course.

The Season 1 "Jelly EH" clip that was re-used over and over was terrible. Later, past season (3?), each time they didn't play that clip, the EH was more impressive than the movie's. As evidence, Atlantis never did the stupid jelly thing.

I miss old fashioned stargate....the new series is more like everything else thats out there....More Drama like Fringe. If universe wasn't set in space it would be so close to House or Bones haha

this dialing sequence is much more awsome than the series one. Also, the gate looks much better, except for the chevrons not lighting up. If they kept the gate like this and made the chevrons light up, it would be the best.

Yea, i saw the effect in the movie is ten times better than the cgi-jelly effect in the series (because of money issues) lol its very expensive to have the orginal effect for a tv series spin-of LoL.
