It's interesting how different things appeal to different people, and how that appeal changes over time. Some didn't like OYE, and it grew on them. I actually had the opposite experience. When I first heard it, I loved it, but now I can barely stand it. Ah well, maybe in ten years I'll like it again....
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised! The title track is one of the best ones on there. But, it's hard for me to choose! Not their best, but a great effort for the artsy and commercial side.
I agree that he was truly an under appreciated musician. A maestro, at best. You have to give him credit for learning all those arduous Yes pieces! I really like that he plays inside all those pieces, too. It was a shame he didn't stay with the group longer. Some moron sued him just to get money! Have you heard his solo albums? I'm gonna have to get my hands on some of those somwhere.....
Open Your Eyes--A very much underappreciated masterwork! :) Thanks for this video! I was hoping to see them do Open Your Eyes. That album is VERY special to me. It was one of the first Yes CDs I ever got. And it was on my birthday back in 1998 or 1999, I believe. And still, it's one of my favorites! :) Thanks alot, man! Billy is so underrated and not appreciated for giving em this gem!
Some suckers bash me just because I love OYE. I think that tour was one of the greatest one, Revealing was an incredible one. The russsian guy did a tremendous job, he´s a way better than Oliver who seems to be lost on the present tour.
I ADMIRE you for loving that album! I wish I had got to see that tour. But, thanks to the uploader of this video, I have seen a piece of it! :) Igor Khorochev WAS awesome. Dig your name, too man! :) Right on!
A good portion of Billy's contribution to Yes is greatly underappreciated. I am one of the rare Yes fans who truly love Open Your Eyes, the album as well as Open Your Eyes, the song. To see how this song was originally conceived, check out Wish I Knew, one of the bonus songs on the Conspiracy CD. Thanks for all of your great music, Billy!
I agree. I did not like it at first, but then one day it just made sense. I think we have expectations and miss what is in front of us because we are looking for something else. Still not too big on Man On The Moon though. haha.
Aww, man...I LOVE Man In The Moon! LOL I've always loved that album, though. I knew it before most of the Yes masterpieces. But, I still LOVE it! Great memories for me! Thanks!

Thanks for changing that ;-)
I think Sherwood's work is unfairly dissed. This was a great song and it gave Yes another hit.
