no, they clearly stated that 3 would be the last Prime game. The Metriod Prime (a.k.a Dark Samus) is dead now, all Phazon is gone, the Prime story is done, next Metriod game is Metriod: Other M.
I hope we've seen the end to Metroid Prime. It was a nice trilogy and should stay that way. I hope that Retro creates a new Metroid at some point. It's been 7 years it's time to find out what happened after Fusion and see that the lousy fusion suit really is gone.

@DragonX4276 - One of the weird things about Other M is that it seemed to say that the Space Pirates were eradicated. It didn't make sense considering there's an entire planet of their species and that they were just on Zebes in Super Metroid. Even if phazon ruined their planet why would destroying Zebes wipe out their species?

that ship is actually "sylux's gunship" from "hunters". that ship is only shown once in that game, but the entire design is no mistake. if anything follows that, it'll either be the sequel to hunters or something else other than "other m".

@brickman409 - There is a sequel to Metroid Prime 3. It's called Metroid 2 the Return of Samus. I love Metroid but as far as I'm concerned I couldn't care less about phazon or Dark Samus. They got 3 great games and that's enough. The thing that made the Prime games wasn't the "Prime" stuff. It was Retro's brilliant take on the whole thing. I'd like to see Retro take that style and create a sequel set after the events of Fusion on an HD 3D-enabled home console.
It was just a thought. I thought that it'd be fun "what if?" moment. In no way do I want the TRUE Metroid formula to die off. I would never want my life to change like that! O_O I just thought with Metroid Prime Hunters that it'd be fun to have a sort of expansive mutliplayer. Bottom line: just a thought, not a permanent change.
OOh, next Metroid game (of course aside from Other M, which is gonna rock! Long live Sakamoto!) should be a badass spinoff. It should be called Metroid: GFVSP (Galactic Federation Versus Space Pirates). You can play as a GF Commander or as General Weavel (I still believe he's a general, or even higher. Like, say, High Command? O_O) Then, online multiplayer with you picking GF soldier skins or Pirate skins. This'll show Halo that Metroid can do what it can do but better! Now, who to make it... :)

At E3, Nintedno said that Retro was working with them on a new game, alothough they wouldn't reveal what it was.

ALL phazon is gone, when you Destroy the planet Phaaze, all phazon everywhere ceases to exist, which is why samus becomes no-longer corrupted

They got 3 great games and that's enough. The thing that made the Prime games wasn't the "Prime" stuff. It was Retro's brilliant take on the whole thing. I'd like to see Retro take that style and create a sequel set after the events of Fusion on an HD 3D-enabled home console.

It was just a thought. I thought that it'd be fun "what if?" moment. In no way do I want the TRUE Metroid formula to die off. I would never want my life to change like that! O_O I just thought with Metroid Prime Hunters that it'd be fun to have a sort of expansive mutliplayer. Bottom line: just a thought, not a permanent change.

OOh, next Metroid game (of course aside from Other M, which is gonna rock! Long live Sakamoto!) should be a badass spinoff. It should be called Metroid: GFVSP (Galactic Federation Versus Space Pirates). You can play as a GF Commander or as General Weavel (I still believe he's a general, or even higher. Like, say, High Command? O_O) Then, online multiplayer with you picking GF soldier skins or Pirate skins. This'll show Halo that Metroid can do what it can do but better! Now, who to make it... :)

Correction: Metroid: Other M. It's not part of Metroid Prime, in fact, I believe it's during the time between Fusion and another game, not at the time of Metroid Prime 3 or later

Adding Team Ninja to Metroid. Interesting idea huh? I think it will make the game more mature, although Retro Studios has already proven themselves. They should have kept going on Metroid. At E3, Nintedno said that Retro was working with them on a new game, alothough they wouldn't reveal what it was.

the new metroid coming out next year is called metroid other m the trailers are already out on youtube its very very sweet its done by a new brand ( not retro studios) The game play is very different and a bit different a bit more like halo yet metroid taken to a new more modern level it has fightinf styles like super smash brothers brawl
