  • World focus is often on the Middle East and specifically Israel-Palestine but the Hutu-Tutsi conflicts, such as the Burundi Civil War dwarf the scale of casualties there. This really is a forgotten tragedy.

  • can't e live in peace

  • Truth is that Western Media is only to make a profit... and they don't care about what is going on if they think they can't sell it. 99% of the average folk don't even know if Burundi is in Africa... they have never even heard about it... that's why it doesn't really get covered.

There was a study that the average person knows 6-10 times the number of commercial brands to that of countries in the world... not to mention knowing what is going on in them. Sad but true... Big Brother melts brains.

  • NOW Did you know?!! There are 2000 Burundian UN Peacekeepers in Mogadisho, Somalia?....That is a place US Marines were trounced in the early 1990s, an incident known as BLACK HAWK DOWN!

That we send our troops abroad means that things have greatly improved....

Barack Obama should take note of this, after all he is partly originated from East Africa.....

Never underestimate what you dont know!

    Rugabo Kadahusha{Burundi}

  • hehe I know what you people are talking about! Only people who had been there can really understand this

  • A Friend of mine was there during the time this film was made. If it wasn´t for her I wouldn´t even know about the civil war there, because german media was not covering the story.

To many westerners Africa is simply a terra inkognita and the only things you get word of are wars (only if western interests or ressources are endangered) and famine.

    Sad but true.

You have to dig for info on your own.

I´m ashamed of "our" politics there

  • This little country seems to be one of the most bloodstained in Africa; Genocide and War are the definition of its recent history.

  • The last rebel group, National Liberation Forces, has signed a peace treaty on Monday, May 26 2008. So now let their be time for celebration followed by rebuilding for our now peaceful nation of Burundi!

  • seems like no matter who's in charge, the people are shit out of luck. all these groups fighting for "whats right" only want money to finance their activities. in the end, the players change but the game is the same.

  • this is in africa not usa

  • You are setting yourself up for disappointment, in putting hope in Obama. He's stamped from the same die as McCain, and Clinton. He's a member of the Council of Foreign Relations, and surrounds himself with advisors from the CFR, just as McCain and Clinton do. They are all traitorous scum. All candidates at that level are: Obama, Clinton, McCain, Edwards, Romney, Huckabee, etc.

If you want real change, and genuine hope, you have to look to the next level, non-CFR: Paul, Kucinich, Gravel, Nader.

  • *lastnymleft * don't you thing you should post this on a different video..we are talking about BURUNDI hear..a country where Maccain would not even know where to locate on the world Map..

  • nzog: Not at all. I was responding to someone specifically promoting "OBAMA", by discussing Obama's foreign relations policies...which are essentially the same as McCains, and Clintons.

I suggest you direct your comment instead to "PresidentOfTheBlacks".

But, as it is, Ron Paul's policy of non-interventionism would positively affect EVERY country around the world, including Burundi. So that's worth mentioning on any foreign video. (And I bet money Ron Paul even knows where Burundi is!)

  • hope will always bring light and new beginnings
