mine does this as well..... she moves it across the pen, around obstacles and puts in so much effort. sometimes she'll hide it and then an hour later will be dragging it into the open.... no interest in incubating so all the moving seems like a lot of wasted effort
why doesn't quails sit on the egg? don't they realize it's their soon to be baby or something? it's as if they are thinking ' wtf, is this thing that came outta my ass ? '
I have seen quails like the male quail in the petshop here, but i have never seen a female like this one, the ones in the petshop are just darkbrown. What sort is it? Aaand another question. If theres two quail siblings who are a female and a male, the female doesnt lay any eggs?
how do u get the male and female to live together is it that they are siblings or that they have been together for a long time or is it that you have other females for the male?
quick question what's the best way to look after them, and are they easy enough to look after without any special needs (special lights, food etc), also could u give me your opinion on whether it would be in my ability to look after one... soz if that sounds really idiotic, cheers
I think she is missing a basic step in egg care. When you roll it under yourself, it is imperative that you SIT DOWN. its like she gets it under herself and goes "Ok, now what?"
