@truthillusion Your mistaken The Wizard of Oz was written by Frank Baum in 1900 and its symbolism is mainly about the "Crime of 1873" when silver was demonetized and wealth was being stolen from the people. The story is mainly about financial reform regarding monetary policy and fractional banking.
Either way, spiritual eyes are going to see spiritual themes. That's a good thing! It's not even that the person who did the film had to have that purpose, but it could even be used as a parable...
The person who looks towards righteousness and the Kingdom will, if he sees the same thing Randall did, not listen about not following the path. Yet, someone for selfish ends will welcome such a message with open arms, hoping to chuck the "wizard" in that case, hoping to be unafraid to do their own
I think it's more about recognising the front that many organised religions put up, how the people who are high up in the organisations can control people and make themselves seem more important than they really are.
The characters stuck to the yellow brick road on the way to Oz, and did not leave the path. When they did, they ran into danger. Might be some sun (gospel)symbolism as in follow the path of the Sun. Its about growth from being a child-like Munch-kin to an adult. On the journey Dorothy realises to complete her goal is enlightenment, courage and love. She developed this but she needed self-realisation by facing danger of night. No yellow road or sun. Only the attributes she found on the way.
Everything in the physical types the spiritual. I've been noticing more and more these types of things myself Randall. It's absolutely true, these examples are all over the place!
Well, I have to agree with your interpretation. It gets even weirder though looking at it thru Freemason/Luciferian glasses. The pre-tornado Wizard tacitly summons Osiris for wisdom and this same character takes the false-godlike form of the Great and Terrible Oz after the tornado. It can go really, really deep.
it seems you have change the end of the movie to see what you want to see and most people don’t need to change the facts to see what they want. But to tie it to a fear of god is more damaging then the movie itself. My take on this is one should LOVE all things and without fear kinda like that Jesus guy did now how is one to be Christ like when they fear the greatest of all love? Which is GOD = absolute love, FEAR= ego thanks for the vid people like you keep me thinking PEACE
my history teacher mentioned that in the book, dorothy's shoes were supposed to be silver, and the yellow brick road represented the gold backed currency, so it was silver back versus gold back, farmers vs bankers and such, i'll have to get back to you guys on the other symbolism
@vizarx yeah yer right..its was about the loss of the gold standard...and the emerald city represented the greenback, which was as fake as the the people who lived there...snipp snipp here..snipp snipp there.....all kinda socilolgical allegories...i could go on and on..
Uhh...I understand your point but if I remember correctly the wizard of oz was orriginally a story a man told his little daughter when she was dieing. I doubt he was trying to convince her not to believe in God, But I do see your point.
I heard that the yellow brick road was an alagory of The Great depression and the dust Bowl in the states... Emerald city was Utopia (NY) the flying monkeys=GMen in the 20's. The Tin man represented Industry. the Scarecrow =The Farmers or Oikies. The Lion the Courage of the nation. The Wicked Which representing drought (She's killed by dorothy by getting covered with water)...But I really don't know...
The maker of the movie apparantly said that the yellow brick road is a symbol of the gold standard. There was recently a book written about this, will look it up later, don't have time right now.

Randall, I'm not sure you can read into that film that much. You could also say that they were on this road looking for a magic wizard that turned out to be a fake. But they found out that God was really in their hearts. And looking for a man on earth to save us will result in disappointment. And that there are good angels there to help protect us against evil angels. And so-forth. My point is seek the Lord and stop looking for the devil everywhere.

You got it wrong Randall. The author, L. Frank Baum, a keen economist and political philosopher wrote this more as an allegory of the state, in particular the federal reserve and the gold standard. Hence the yellow brick road.
The message is actually a good one, do not trust authority of the state. More information on wikipedia. Search "Political interpretations of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz"
I actully just watched this thinking the same thing. The only reason i watched it cause i saw it as a kid and thought it would be cool to watch it as i am now. Only to start to see wow is the wizard god? the yellow brick road our shitty life with crap to come get us every step of the way...this has really made me think.. and this was made so long ago...
Anybody that says malarkey has their social stock plummet automatically in my crappy little book of tell tale signs of a new stranger. Interesting point though on the whole slant on the Wiz. I'm glad I don't have to play any pink Floyd albums to see your point though.
Belle doesn't understand that these wicked men mix what the world deems 'good' attributes ie courage etc with the overwhelming symbolism of mocking God & the witches (ie good & evil according to the 'world').
only those who desire truth will have their eyes opened to see the devices of Satan.
Doesn't the movie say at the end that the battle is really inside of "us?" I haven't seen the film is awhile, but that's what I remember. We are all trying to develop courage, heart, and something elsed. d
Dorothy = The pure hearted People of Kansas
Twister = "Crime of 1873" when silver was demonetized
Slippers = They were silver in the book
Munchkins = Represanted the ignorant masses enslaved by the Gold standard
Yellow Brick Road= The gold standard with no silver standard along side
Scarcrow = Stupid Farmer
Tinman = The industrial worker that was hurt by the depression because of unemployment due to the loss capitol and lack of gold.
Emerald city =Cox's march to D.C to protest the Gold standrd

Don't think you've listened closely to Elton John's song - which is about giving up the glamour, and going back home to where you belong

yellow brick road = gold
emerald city = money
You have to wear the glasses to see the green. Implying that money has no real value and gold is the way to go.
