@MuhammadThomas uhh, there have been solid planets for the last 900 million years. they are much older than the human race. the era of gas giants (stars) was about 8.5 billion years ago. iron is older than us humans by a long time. iron fell from the sky as meteorites, debris from outer space. plus, there is loads of iron in the earths mantle anyway.

The problem with the qu'ran is that it's written in a very vague language, so even if science changes the qu'ran can be re-interpreted to completely contradict what it previously said.
I guess what I am trying to say is that the qu'ran is unlikely to be interpreted correctly (in terms of science) until science has done the work to find the right answer.

If all the signs are correct then you will understand that Quran is the word of Allah. If God wants to give accounts in order that we'll check their scientific validity, those accounts MUST NOT be vague by definition, your opponent is right.
Something vague can apply to different outcomes, thus tells us nothing about what the author really intended, preventing any falsification and predictive power: the very things that are neccesary to test scientific anticipations.

If the Quran has all this amazing science in it, look in the Quaran and from its pages tell me a truth about the physical world that hasn't been discovered by science that allows you to make a testable prediction so that we may know it is true.
