  • 126 people don't have hands... (jealous?)

  • @ALEXANDER6888 How do they dislike this?

  • Comment removed

  • wonderful technique, no feeling. Not like Chopin is supposed to sound at all.

  • Yes, but can she do it on a cold Tuesday night at Stoke?

  • oh.my.god. that's the only thing i can say to this.

  • The video on Youtube of Richter playing this is faster, I'm sure Lisitsa could play it just as fast if she wished to. That video is simply Richter showing off, it's unlikely he always played it that fast as the piece inevitably loses some of its dynamics. This is an ideal speed, still furiously fast but with just enough breathing space for the piece to sing.

  • Faster Faster Faster .... Run Valentina Runnnnn!!! :p

  • She plays this ètude too cold, Chopin has a broad palette of colors even in fast tempi. Good technic nevertheless.

  • Your fingers are like magic!

  • imagine the handjobs.

  • I´m really impressed! It´s an amazing version of this great composition!

  • if rachmaninoff has bumblebee..then chopin has this symphony...

  • wheres my top comment gone !!!!!

  • i don't know why people consider chopin a musical genius. this song has no soul at all.

  • @JOEtheHOTTIE maybe for you...but not for everyone. i think Chopin was a great composer.

  • @HarrisonRules95 Сhopin is genius,Lisitsa too.

  • @JOEtheHOTTIE It's not really soul... It's madness.

  • @JOEtheHOTTIE

     IT'S A STUDY. "Etude". STUDY.

  • @JOEtheHOTTIE ARE YOU SURE ? hahaha

  • @JOEtheHOTTIE

this a etude, what you understand for etude and check his ballade no. 1 and no.2 :)

  • I think there's a reason why this is in 240p

  • how a person can dislike this video?

  • WTF...i come here for a Tool's video.........this is freaking awesome!!

  • my favourite version of this piece =]

  • Someday...

  • Chopin Etude Op 10 No.4 Cross over

  • That was amazing. You go!

  • Is this profile owned by Valentina herself?

  • woahhh so niceeee

  • I'm trying to keep tens of classical pieces in my head for a uni christmas exam I have in half an hour and I get bombarded with stupid ads which make me forget everything!

  • its sped up!!!!!!

  • @camilulucams yeah seems like it... i'm not entirely sure though

  • @rg5simm understandable, but its not

  • @JT112358 yeah i agree actually. the audio sounded completely fine to me but on the screen she looked really jerky - probably because it's 240p. anyway richter has gone much faster

  • @rg5simm Lol I just saw Ritcher's and it's like twice as fast as this lol

  • you have to be an asshole to not like chopin.

  • @rmv4life

    ...and apparently 123 people are.

  • Chuck Norris can play this on a Classical Triangle, with his beard!

  • Did my computer just block ?

  • Did she die?

  • To slow!

  • I quit

  • @LukeDSimpson LOL

  • Lol, you have to play w/o encumburance by us shorter people.

  • when you play your piano like a lost soul, such as moving his own fingers, and blend with your music,,,, really amazing.

  • She plays at 184 bpm which means impossible!

  • Dislike button isn't torrent download, you 122 fools.

  • Dear Valentina, I just wonder if you know any musical or technical difficulties !?

  • my pants are wet

  • stunning dress for a stunning performance !!

  • 122 people are trying to play this piece themselves.

  • i didnt want it to end

  • fap fap

  • I'm in love :O

  • HOW CAN YU POSSIBLY DISLIEK DIS>>

  • @MrShaman793 they tried to play like her and their hands disliked it XD

  • dumb bitch this shit is ez

  • I studied this piece last year and it took me more than six months to learn it. This interpretation is one of the finest. The phrases are arched, the clarity is flawless, the impressions are perfect, and I have never seen anyone play it this fast with this much clarity. I was able to hear every note. Thank you Valentina for posting this. This is incredible!

  • I've never heard of her before. She's VERY GOOD.

  • :O

  • I loved her performance. She left me speechless...

And I thought that had learned twinkle twinkle little star was something ...

  • 121 people don´t like because they try to cover it and break their fingers :O

  • That was so amazing, I forgot what I was gonna comment..

  • Valentina, you're my inspiration to play piano, you play very well, and have a talent like anyone. Congratulations!

  • i think i can feel a torrent?

  • i wonder if the piano feels raped

  • it's SEEMS speeded up O.O

  • this woman is raping the piano, somebody stop her!

  • This etude is killing me!!!

  • she makes my computer lag...

  • @kazesorany I thought I was the only one!:)

  • @BiggestPossible You know, comments like that which are one of the top comments along with the person's screen name being "Biggest Possible" doesn't do your argument justice.

  • Very lovely. you really have your fingers for painoplaying, and nothing else.

  • this piece is very difficult to play

  • sweet sounds

  • @kayboardkid94 I completely disagree; everyone has their own interpretation of music. Even though one may be able to play this piece, beauty != ability to play. Frankly, I find like Brendel's performance of this Etude much better than Lisitsa's performance.

  • I think my interpretation is better

    watch?v=zYkOMh7-z9M

  • @bokimandusha Nice try dude! Had me going there for a millisecond. Hahahaha!

  • Maybe Lisitsa is a grand-grand-granddaughter of List?

    btw. excellently amazing! :))

  • too slow!!

  • never heard this piece so fast, valentina just makes it look easy (or not)

  • I love the reactions. Keep in mind, Etudes are meant to play quickly. Further, when 'professionals' play in recital, typically, they do the entire "book" OP 10 - 1/12 so you have to learn quickly.

  • Lisitsa wants to be a god not a mere mortal, so her playing speed is not 60 beats per minute but around 90...

  • my name is Valentina . The best name ever! :)

  • i have this now as my ringtune :D

  • I may have seen half of the million times this video has been whatched...I became addicted to it.

  • я полюбила ващу технику)

  • i'm from mississippi. We are still stupid rednecks down hear. My son got computer for me. I turned it on and hear this girl playing. I jumped back from the desk got down on my knees and and told elvis to go to hell cause I would be burnin his records (and Mel Tillis too) cause now I have heard a heavenly angel play the impossible.

  • Look how relaxed her hands are! Wow!

  • Je me demande ce qu'elle peut faire avec ses doigts ?

    Quelle souplesse intense ho yeah.

    P**** elle est bonne.

  • Good

  • i really really love this piece

  • oso

  • she play veeeery czerny before this...

  • Man those fingers move so fast, I want her left hand...

  • wow she really PIANOWNED this one!

  • I so wish I could play this song. I think its one of chopins best ones!!! I just love it!!!

  • I fucking hate this etude, I have been practicing this for 4 months or something, but i still can´t play this at right speed. I´d say that it´s more harder than Op 10 no 2 and Op 25 no 6.

  • @EmilRaja i guess i believe you,but i can tell you even tougher etudes of chopin like 25-10,11,12...and this etude isnt harder than 25-6,all are difficult in its own way

  • I finally can play this song as her speed today :)) Finally.... waiting for this day so long....開心~

  • Es hermoso verla interpretar muchas obras de Fryderyck... con la misma escencia :D wow!

  • Wow!!!!!! :0

  • - SHE PLAYS BAD

    - NO

  • Comment removed

  • this piece is mindblowingly difficult. for me anyway

  • she can play this in 2 days....i remember she said that to play totentanz she locked up herself with the piano for three days and there you go...really, compared to that, this is nothing lol

  • Learning it is not the problem, developing the technical skills to master this piece is what takes time.

  • 240p we meet again.

  • ...just wow

  • valentina : hi piano ! lets do a quick warm up etude !

    piano : ok !

    valentina : *plays chopin 10-4*

    piano : wtf !

  • @TheHyenaKing piano: did you just rape me for warm-up?

  • @monkeyBoner773 Comments like this coming from "Monkey Boner" make it really hard to share these videos with my parents and old piano teachers.

  • @BiggestPossible Guess it's time to start the hunt for Monkey Boner's comment.

  • I love watch her play this piece, her fingers just seem to caress the keys, and she makes it look so easy. I'd love to be able to play with her finesse at even a 1/3 of the speed :-)

  • Most definitely adding her to my top favorite pianists

  • To my recollection, Chopin was heavily influenced by Bach. It makes sense. This piece sounds like an inspired version of the Bach English suite no. 6 'gigue'. I wonder how many hours a day Ms. Lisitsa practices her scales.

  • @bornandbred24 She said that she practices about 8 hours a day in an interview O_O I practice for about 2 hahaha

  • doesn't hurt that it's a bosendorfer :)

  • Oh my gosh. This is probably one of the fastest piano players I've seen..If not the fastest, surely in the top 5 ... Simply amazing

  • This is the sort of panache required for this Etude. Lisitsa is certainly an extraordinary talent.

  • Just like a Butterfly

  • @airvarie check the butterfly etude lol

  • Horowitz played this brilliantly, and yet his rendition seems strained and stilted compared to Valentina Lisitsa's. His rhythm isn't as perfect either.

    watch?v=7XX538sybMU

    She amazes me.

I think this is how this piece should be played, whether Chopin wanted it played like this or not!

  • I just started learning this piece for Certificate of Merit. I suddenly feel very afraid and yet very awed O_O

  • OMG!! Just look at her hands! How have you been playing piano?

  • (✪ฺܫ✪ฺ)

  • I thought this was fast until I saw Richter. : O

  • Squash all of Chopin's Etudes together and you get Beethoven's Hammerklavier Sonata....kind of. =D

  • who don't like this is idiot :))))

  • Incredibly fast, and captivating playing.

  • Valentina along with Ingrid Fliter are the current world beaters among the younger generation of female pianists - In my humble opinion.

  • i cant stop listening this song

  • How can there be a dislike button in this? After seeing 113 dislikes in this video I guess we shouldn't give much attention to all those "piano expert critics" we meet at youtube...

  • ok.. her hands move so fast that lags my pc lol

  • it looks as if she dont even touches the keys :O

  • Valentina, can you record Transcendental Etudes ? There arent that many recordings of them, but everyone has chopin etudes

  • wow..! aplaudo de pie !... bravo...! la obra es de un genio y la ejecución es impecable, admirable, bello y hermoso... gracias.! bravooooo!!!!...

  • at first it seems hard, but its all about perfection. practice practice practice and practice. did i mention it needs alot of practice?

  • madre mia que bien tocas chiquilla !!!

  • Dear Valentina,

I have yet to find a recording of you playing chopin's first ballade. Considering it will take you about an hour and a half to learn, I think me and everyone else who loves that piece would greatly appreciate it if you recorded it. For the time being only the bravest of the concert pianists have attempted it, which is unfortunate.

  • Ela é sua namorada? Seu corno!!! kkk...

  • Valentina is my girlfriend, she just doesn't know it yet.

  • Валентина, БРАВИССИМО! склоняю голову, и мои комплименты!.. .самые искренние!.....

  • The thing is, anybody can play it, it's just that for her it would take 2 days to learn, and for everybody else, 8 years....

  • @keyboardkid94 HAHAHA u rite! xD

  • @keyboardkid94 i managed to learn petit chien in 2 days, then i watched this and gave up.

  • @keyboardkid94 how you can say she take 2 days for learn it?

  • @manghiggio she's a pro lol

  • @keyboardkid94 impossible.... i bet, she wouldn't be able to play this, if she just took 7 days to learn it

  • @keyboardkid94 If you start playing the piano with no basics it would take 8 years to learn it, but if you have played the piano for 8 years it might take 2 days to learn it...

  • @ContraereaSerba 2 days to learn it if u've played the piano for 8 years? I dont think so..

  • @ContraereaSerba I've played for 12 years, and it took me about 1 month

  • @keyboardkid94 nope. 1-2 months.

  • Comment removed

  • @keyboardkid94 after 7 years of playing the piano, i can say that a person of my level can learn this etude within 4 months time (4 weeks=>4 lessons for just the notes)...Lisitsa plays, though, can pretty much play it prima vista!

  • @keyboardkid94 2 days?!

  • And not anybody can play it..................

  • @55mayakeren55 There's a little bit of sarcasm in keyboardkid's statement...way to pick up on it

  • @keyboardkid94

Well, ..is 8 years enough ??

Valentina's way of playing the piano is absolute perfection !!

  • @keyboardkid94 well technically, she probably started piano when she was 6 or so and im gonna get shes 24 now, so really it took her 18 years to play this. If i started to practice exactly wat she did those 18 years right now, it would probably took me 36 years rofl

  • @nilinar09 She performed a solo recital already at the age of 4.

  • @nilinar09 She's 38 now

  • I wonder if he himself could play this..

  • Love the left hand at 1:02 and 1:03 !

  • I wouldn't be surprised if Val turns into a masked superhero at night... :-)

  • just how haha

  • AMAZING

  • I'm playing this song right now but when she plays it it looks easier than it really is...:| waauuw... I'm gonna be really happy if I can play this song :D
