"KEEP GIVING TO THE PACK"....don't know if you heard this. He is talking about holding the line. This is a WAR, and if they keep coming back, eventually the public will SEE they are at war on the people.
Now we have sub prime mortgage brokers who own appraisal managment companies AMC's. The amc profits are driven speed and lowest appraisal fees. The lower the fee the higher the amc profit.
Wake up, America. The most dangerous enemies aren't Al-Qaeda terrorists 1000s of miles away. They're these guys and their bought-and-paid-for politicians.
BTW, everyone (liberals and conservatives) loved subprime lending because it flooded the markets with massive money, and created the housing boom...then it all went boom-boom. Wall street lit the match, Hedgefunds fanned the flames and Lenders poured gas on it.
the new horror movie 'Drag Me To Hell' is about a bank loan officer that refuses an extension to a woman's mortgage. She does this to show her own boss that she is ready to make the tough calls and is worthy of a promotion that she is competing for. The banker gets cursed by the homeowner and is tortured by a demon for 3 days before her soul is to be sent to hell for eternity.
She gets cursed for turning the loan down and goes to hell. If she approved the loan, she gets cursed by all of the liberals for facilitating subprime lending, wonder which is worse? You know, just saying....damned if you do and damned if you don't...
Although, no sympathy here...I am a recovering banker. I am judging because perspective and experience with their kind.
Gave myself permission to be a decent human - instead of a paycheck, and turned my back on that Hell of an industry for good in '04. I worked with all of the demonic jerks, too - Greed, Justification, Arrogance, etc. Looks like all of the usuals suspects are still making their appearances.
Thanks for telling us all what a decent person you are (I am sure you are) we all want to be good people. "For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you..." I think Jesus said that, Every industry has bad actors, and in time we all pay the price for our deeds, both good and bad, I sleep great every night.
This vid is reflecting these mortgage bankers in their natural smug state of getting over on people and using political influence to navigate through congress. No matter how many people are losing their homes and choking on debt. YES I judge that is WRONG.
Jesus went crazy mad at the money changers (bankers) in front of the temple - why? Because they were using the guise of the temple as their cover to help others while they were ripping people off. Maybe he was just pissed off...
To all of you haters out there: "You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat. "
Hahahaha, you guys are just so funny and such a great asset to our country. Somebody should have fire-bombed that place. Bankers are the most vile scum going.
As for Senator Durbin, this is a smoke-screen. Durbin is a bloated museum of treachery. Durbin has taken an OBSCENE amount of money from AIPAC and other Israeli interests, making Durbin a complete tool of Israel and a traitor to America.
These "folks" are a cancer on our country and need to be removed before they metastasize and kill the folks providing a home for them....that would be us. We have seen the enemy and it is these creeps. We bailed them out and they are stabbing us in the back with money extorted from the taxpayer. That would be us.
The real problem is that Obama promised to get this bill passed. There is footage of it here on You Tube. Durbin said the White house was silent when he needed help to get the bill passed. They knew the bill was being defeated from bank lobbyists and yet nothing was done...Why?
Obama OWES so many people his victory, AnnenJosh. He owes the Zionist Lobby, he owes folks in the CFR/Bilderburg/Trilateral Commission, with all it's contacts (including the Rockfellers and other powerful families). Lastly, take a look at the biggest contributors to his campaign: Wall Street.
He owes THEM.
You're gonna find that Obama will be Mr Status Quo, and be perceived as week, cos he owes so many powerful people.
yes he does, everyone was boasting that when he was elected he was debt free, his campaign was completely paid for by other people, & when they give to him, they're gonna want a lot back.
brand obama: bought & paid for by anything other than the american public
AmericanNewsProject, thanks for getting this out there--even though it's pretty nauseating to watch. These "trade associations" as they call themselves are the same people who villainize unions and union members among the working class.
A point is FIDUCIARY DUTY - FIDUCIARY RESPONSIBLITY. You cannot just summarily offer mortgage documents to a group of people and say, "Hey, sign these...ya know, ya gotta pay us later...sign here, and here...blah, blah, blah..." There is a real obligation in financial matters that regard the knowledge of a bank and their representatives that are held to a higher standard of knowing what is a proper or an appropriate risk. Not just left up to the individual signing.
Money is NOT the issue... having money, making money, etc. MONEY IS NOT EVIL. It is not unethical to be successful.
THE PROBLEM is that people (these bankers) JUSTIFY their immoral actions or lack of ethical action in their fears of holding onto money, and/or continuing to make money in a corrupt and morally illegal manner.
At least Marie A. offered to "let them eat cake"...These Wiseguys just want us to eat dirt!
One other thing you can do is to see if your mortgage documents contain any TILA or RESPA violations. This is very important. Most attorneys are taking these cases on contingency.
You must take into account the homes that are in serious default right now. Moody's predicts that one in six mortgages across the nation will be in default/foreclosure within the next four years if this crisis is ignored.
Your stats are wrong. In Ca, one of worst hit by foreclosures, some home prices are down 50% including our own. Check you facts, I have been on top of this for years. This is not just about people deciding to stop making payments or taking on to much than they could afford. There were some, but not the majority. The real estate market hyper inflated prices of homes and these banks ran away will HUGE profits. Industry FRAUD was the name of the game on MANY of these foreclosures.
because it represents his interests even though they aren't ours. Most people don't care about anything that doesn't affect them. They have the money to make things happen and for some reason everybody's ok with that.
The Original "Cram Down": Orchestrated by lending lobby was when they pushed/crammed mortgages down peoples financial throats. HOWEVER, the real secret is that your lender is in PANIC that you will find out that your mortgage is illegal and that they do not have any rights to your payment. Yes, most ALL mortgages originated in the last 10yrs are non-binding/non-compliant documents. Your lender is afraid that you will figure it out.
If you have followed this crisis like the experts have, you would realize that the majority of people were scammed by these institutions...like the elderly and so on. Not to mention that homes have dropped in value by over 50% in some places and people can't refinance or they have lost their job due to this economy. WAKE UP! This bill was for the PEOPLE and half of the senators have now shown us that they do not care about their constituents or America's recovery.
Actually Case-Shiller has home prices down 23%, the National mortgage delinquency rate is 3.96% (so 96% of the people ARE making their payments), not sure about the elderly comment as there are laws protecting them agree that the market is bad, but the bill was for the Plaintiff's Bar and NOT the people.
axelrudolph...the 96 percent of people that ARE making their payments will be going down within the next 3 years when their ALT-A loans start adjusting in 2011, 2012. That will be the next round of foreclosures.
If the cram down legislation would have passed, mortgage rates would soar. Simple math, no emotion, those who lend but can't collect will either no longer lend OR charge much more to cover the cost of uncollected money. I know it's cool to bash and point fingers, but wiping the slate clean for some people who borrowed money against their home to payoff their credit cards makes it hard to for all us.
Disgusting. It's sad how socially detached a class of people can be from another, even when there is a relationship of "trust" between them, like a mortgage.
"Our industry took your money using questionable and often outright unethical practices, and now we're fighting to keep that money."
Although it was comforting to see at least some in the industry, like the gray-haired man interviewed toward the end, are more level-headed about the relationship between homeowners and lenders.
AmericanKnowItAll: You're just throwing out bombast without any data to back it up. More right-wing frear-mongering. Wall Street makes you bend over and take it up the ass, but as long as Limbaugh and O'Really tell you that what we have is a free market, you believe them and carry their water.
And those expensive hammers and toilets became even more costly under Bush. Go read a book.
It's perfectly OK to spend Billions of Dollars bailing out the Banks but to hell with real people getting any help.
We again see the REAL AMERICA, not the one they told us about in school. In REAL AMERICA we have THE BEST CONGRESS AND PRESIDENT MONEY CAN BUY". We just replaced one set of crooks with a new set of crooks.
This Bill would let people pay the ACTUAL VALUE OF THE HOME over 30 years with reasonable interest instead of the outrageous rates the Mortgage Crooks stuck people with.
So you the bankers should accept no responsibility in the mortgage fraud. Your completely free of guilt? I don't think standing on the hill tomarrow will be a rainbow. More like a lighting bolt.
Here's an idea! How about a federal investigation to seek out and force you and your buddies to pay back all the money stole with your scheming mortgage fraud.
They created slick mortgages and got away with it. Now, they're crying because the other side is trying to balance things out a bit. The banks and builders worked together in this scheme so the builders should pay some of the loan off.
