I mean raymondcrookes, I'm a lover of classical music,
who always, sensitive to the details of playing or singing (as what most classical music lovers do), but your singing is so incredibly touching,
I'm a Malaysian chinese, I've known many of those Indonesian or Chinese song snag by you since I was small, and this is the very first time, I feel like to sing along...congrats!!
@1merovingian I don't have tabs, but you can find the chords on my website, under "Songs From Around the World." (Link to the website is in the information panel above.)
I thought that tune sounded familiar!!! Then,I viewed your impeccably comprehensive sidenotes and my assertion had been verified and validated. With a tune so haunting and touching, how can one not resist putting it through the folk process by modifying the words for a particular region of singers and listeners? As always, your no-nonsense approach was most welcomed and surely appreciated.
Your videos have almost brought me into tears...

Thanks for watching. I can't expect to get the accent right, though I did listen carefully to Teresa Teng's rendition.

Thanks for your comments, Max.
As a matter of interest, there is also an English version of this song: /watch?v=w70tcwgCnpM
Quite nice, but I think it would be better without all the drums. I suppose they are meant to represent the beating heart.

Beautifully done. I don't know the meaning but I feel the soul of the song. Very wistful, full of longing.
