I got a ticket in a small town and what I did was boycott that cities businesses for about 4 months. and to this date I have only spent less than 20 bucks in that city. I got the ticket for doing the same speed as the rest of traffic was flowing. if I had done the speed limit I would have been putting others in danger when peeps tried to get around me in a work zone. I fail to see how this falls under "protecting life and property", or how it meets the job qualification "Ability to cope with situations firmly, courteously, tactfully, and with respect for the rights of others".
This policeman is too immature and insecure to be in this line of work. His behavior was inappropriate. A tazer should only be used on violent criminals who are endangering the life of the officer. This woman posed no threat to anyone.

A granny yelling at you is NOT life-threatening. It's also not something you cannot handle without the taser.
Conclusion: he used the taser without any provocation and should be kicked out of the police force and put on trial for extremely excessive use of force.

Actually, Tasers are supposed to be used to maintain positive control on subjects of interview, arrest, or detainment. Guns are to be used when an officer is in life-threatening danger.
Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies switched to tasers because the public rejected the use of batons and choke-hold techniques. If we're not going to use tasers, we need to give them an alternative which does not impact the number of officer fatalities.

In August of 2000 a Texas State Trooper was shot a killed by a 71 year old man who thought it was his constitutional right not to wear a seatbelt.
The subject was tasered to prevent possible injury to the Officer, drivers by on the roadway, and the woman herself. She didn't suffer permanent injuries. Had she complied to lawful order(s) of the Officer, SHE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN TASERED !!

This needs to be addressed immediately and stopped. This will not end with tasering old ladies. Will it be rowdy 2 year-olds at Wal-Mart next. This is a dangerous precedent.
She is lucky her heart is strong and he is lucky he didn't kill her. What kind of a coward is he? I saw the video from the police car on the news and he was mad and responded emotionally not rationally. She on the other hand was not behaving appropriately, but certainly didn't need to be tasered.

You should do your homework before you make anymore stupid comments. We are not going to start tasing 2 year olds that are rowdy, the old lady was resisting arrest, not following orders (for her safety to get OUT OF TRAFFIC which by the way was 100 times more threatening to her health than the taser!), cussing and acting disorderly. The likelyhood of her having a heart attack from the taser is basically zero, the same as everyone elses.

In America, REGARDLESS OF AGE if you refuse to sign a speeding ticket, you will go to jail. If you refuse to go to jail, you would be physically forced to go to jail. 100% exactly what this officer had done. He followed the police book perfectly and even included NINE warnings 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. NINE! Police now treat traffic stops like drug busts and are not opposed to using force on anyone and everyone- including elderly petite women. They will claim its procedure- but the procedure clearly contravenes established law. But then they can't actually read, and they believe they are the law.

What everyone has to remember is how dangerous this situation was. At any time, this 72 year old woman could have jumped the officer. He was in fear for his life. She raised her voice and challenged his auth-O-ri-ty . If he didn't beat her down like the DOG she was, she might have killed him.

I jumped for joy at news of the crash air france flight 447. I love watching the plane sink to its watery grave. I enjoy hearing the passengers screaming for help. The sound of drowning passengers gasping for air is music to my ear. The bottom of atlantic ocean is an awesome place to sleep on. The moment the jet broke up in midair must have been a kodak moment. I'm disappointed that the death toll is so low. A bunch of bodies floating on the atlantic ocean would've been an awesome sight.
