Then people are saying, "ok, But he won't make it another full season that way." Where he answered with a national championship.
Returns for his Sr season and finally the detractors have just moved on to, he will never make it/Run in the pros. Classic.

Tebow is like the fifth best QB college football right now, if you want to actually call what he does being a QB. Well seems that this "gimmick offense" u talk about seems to be winning national championships. This is like saying micheal phelps is only faster because the water on his side of the pool is flowing in the direction he is swimming. Get Real. Go Gators 09
how can an offense be a gimmick? only a defense can be clueless.people make different offenses all the time and yea his passes r wobbly and yet theyre always perfectly on the money
The offense is gimmick because Meyer runs out of the shotgun 99.9% of the time, hands off to his WRs 40% of the time, options it out 90% of the time, runs the QB up the middle on 20% of the total runs, and uses the fullback at QB.

yea hell b taking more snaps under center this year. and hes a pretty accurate passer especially on his deep passes. and hes a very strong runner. nothings wrong with his running. also, him being left handed is only to his advantage since defenses have to play him the exact opposite as other qbs
1: Because your best LT has to convert to RT, since the LT is 9/10 times the best O-Lineman on the team, and guards the QBs blind side.
2: Wide receivers have to adjust differently to the pass since it's thrown at a different angle being the right side.
He's not a strong runner. He runs directly upright, if he was a strong runner he'd tuck his head and try to bust through everybody instead of ramming them trying to look tough.
ok i c youre just as your name suggests but ill explain to you. the o line has 2 adjust and so does the best pass rusher. theyre both on the opposite side. and he does lower his head when hes about to make contact unless he doesnt need to
You always need to keep your body down and keep a low center of gravity, it increases both speed and power, and creates extra momentum.
Tebow runs directly upright, which is very, very bad.
I'm just giving you facts, you can choose to accept them or not, which you probably wont.
The only thing Tebow has going for him is his leadership and... and... nothing. He was on one of the most talented teams in the country and was used in a system.
well im guessing you have never played actual football. like with refs and stuff cause then youd know that u only lower down when u r gonna make contact cause when your heads down its damn near impossible to cut or juke or see where youre going. and u run fastest upright duh do u ever see usain bolt runnin full speed with his head down?? oh and every qb is in a system...west coast (joe montana), pass happy (dan fouts) no huddle (peyton manning) spread option (tim tebow)
You keep your body low, you don't tuck down until you make contact yes. However you need to keep your body low, keep your knees lower than average and keep a low center of gravity if you're not a speed guy, and Tebow isn't a speed guy, he needs to keep that low center of gravity. No team in the NFL uses the spread, none, nadda, zero, zip. Name one QB that has come from the spread that has had success in the NFL.
true no one uses the spread SINGULARLY but every single team uses the spread in each game. look at the patriots in 2007. the first team in NFL history to be in shotgun over 50% of the time...they were a great team. but yea no team uses it EVERY PLAY. just like no one uses the west coast offense purely anymore either cause the west coast offense doesnt have shotgun. but every team uses its principles on timing. no team in the NFL uses one system. they all have a mixture
The spread doesn't come DIRECTLY out of the shotgun 100% of the time.
The spread is 4-5 WRs on the field, each of them run specific routes to spread out the defense to pressure them and to open up running lanes, THAT is what the spread is.
You DON'T need to come out of the shotgun to use the spread, that is why Meyer's offense is gimmick.
He hands it of to his WRs 40% of the time, options it out 90% of the time, runs the QB up the middle on 20% of the total runs, and runs out of the shotgun 99% of the time.
Find any, just one other team in the country that does this. Not just in the NFL, but in college.
Not only that, but he has to get used to having a lead rusher which he has never had in his entire career.
well first off the last thing u said makes no sense. hes gonna be grateful to have another person be the main rusher. its less on his back. also handing off to wrs really isnt handing off to a wr. theyre rbs in that play since theyre running it. just like u can throw it to a rb. duh. and just because only one other team runs it doesnt mean its a gimmick. its pretty revolutionary if u ask me. just like when the 49ers did the west coast. they were the ONLY ones doin it
well maybe youve never heard of drew brees but he was in the spread in college. and i agree its tough to say if it was the system or the players with the old 49ers. they probably COULD have been a pass happy offense. but ill go to brett favre. in his prime he was in the west coast O. then he wasnt and he went downhill waaay downhill. but thats cause hes too erratic. u cant b erratic at ALL in the west coast offense. no one should give him freedom to run n shoot. lol
Drew Brees played at Purdue, who didn't switch to the spread until 2003 when Joe Tiller initialized it thinking that it would be the most effective system in the Big Ten.
Well, he was wrong.
Besides, even if Drew Brees ran the spread in college he had every asset to him that Tim Tebow doesn't.
what r u talking about?!?! when drew brees came in people doubted him because of his size and throwing strength. just like they did with Montana. and tim has the power he just needs 2 work on accuracy a little bit. honestly tebow can throw the football. we all can see it. hes got skills and leadership. he can be a very good NFL QB and brees threw the ball almost every play when he was at purdue look up his stats
Drew Brees is in the bsame type of offense at Purdue that he is in now, Pro Style pass happy attack, that's why he's succeeding to such an extent. I would honestly never take him on my team.
You don't understand do you? You're just another delusional tebow homer.
Tim Tebow's mechanics - terrible
His release - god awful slow
His accuracy - Bad
Awareness - bad
Presence - horrible
Ability to read defenses - almost not even there
He has an entire lifetime of work to do on himself, not a "little"
c now youre just lying how am i a homer?? i live in louisville KY! lol hes just real good so im telling facts. and how can u say his awareness is bad? he rarely makes bad passes and running the option u need 2 be more aware than in ANY other offense!!! and his presence is great!! people know he can burn your defense deep short or run they keep all eyes on him! and hes athletic so hes not going down without a fight in the pocket. and as i said he reads defenses very well
You don't need to be a gator fan to be a Tebow homer. I know UT and FSU fans that are Tebow homers.
No, he does not read defenses well. He doesn't know how to interpret man or zone coverage and for that he will get annihilated in the NFL.
His awareness is terrible man, he constantly gets sacked and taken down for losses. Unfortunately for the option plays the stat keepers don't know whether he was sacked or just tackled for loss. He should have more like a 30 or 40 in his sack stat.
Oh, and are you crazy, he has a terrible pocket presence, that is one of his worst flaws.
Rarely... Rarely makes bad passes? Are you a dumbshit? How many times per game does he throw a spiral? 1? 2? That stuff MATTERS. Mechanics MATTER. He has had the delight of having crutches in college football. He has been on one of the most talented team, especially speed wise in his receivers.
He's the perfect example of a type of player that works in college but not the NFL.
How is Tebow's accuracy bad??? 65% completion, 173 QB rating. I've watched this guy the last 2 years and all I see is him being very, very efficient. Great accuracy in every range 5-50 yds. Don't understand where you get that, have you watched him play. How do you have statistics like 448-681-11, he has 11 interceptions in 681 attempts. Do you realize how good that is??? 67 TD's. You say Awareness-Bad, Presence-horrible. Are you on crack.....the #'s speak for themselves.
QBs with the balls or ability to run instead of throwing it away almost ALWAYS have a good accuracy % because they run instead of throwing it under pressure. That's why Colt McCoy's was so high.
But it's the real drop back passers like Sam Bradford that are ACTUAL high completion % guys.
Oh, and Tebow has a low INT ratio because of Meyer's system, massive amounts of screens, slants, posts, in & out routes massively reduce the amount of interceptions thrown.
Sorry buddy, you are just soo wrong. He has great accuracy, great "presence", and great "Awareness". Just because you have an opinion does not make it true. I played D1 college ball and I have been an Offensive Cooridinator at the High School level. I have much more football knowledge than you do. YOu are just way off. Tebow is a truley great QB, leader, winner.
681 attempts doesn't sound like a guy who runs all the time. He was 18-30 for 231 yards in the NC game against Oklahoma. You are just so far off it's funny. Please give my your credentials to back up your Opinions on Tebows footwork, etc. Funny stuff.......Accuracy, lol.
18-30 against a bottom 50 ranked defense nationally, wow I'm so impressed. Not really since it's obvious Harvin was the guy doing the real damage in that game, just like he is in just about every big game UF has.
Harvin didn't even play against Bama in the SEC Championship game, lol. I have a clue, but you don't. Go back to the couch and breakdown Tebow's footwork, lol. Pathetic.
Michigan had a great game. What is your point. Does Tebow play defense now???? Stay on subject buddy. What is SLB(strong Line backer) did you play inside or outside linebacker? SAM or WILL(strong or weak). Florida fans a some of the best in all of college football, you have your opinion, thats fine.
Dude, I know where a strong sidebacker lines up. I have to break down film every week. I ran the veer in high school, all option.
Anyway, just stop the negative stuff, no need for that. YOu don't have to like Tebow. He is a good leader and a good kid. He may never play in the NFL< who cares about that. Many people don't like him because he gets so much love from the media, I get that. He had never done anything to anyone to deserve all the nasty comments about him.
All I can say is I disagree with you. I know you are an expert on QB's, but in my humble opinion he is one of the best college QB's ever. Actually he has pretty good footwork, great pocket presence, and his release is much better than it was 2 years ago. How is his leadership. Off the charts. He is a winner. You just can't measure that one. All his awards are testimony to that leadership.
Idiotic statement from a guy who has never played college football, let alone never played QB. Any QB that starts for any Div 1 football team is a pretty good QB. I don't care what team it is. That is a really dumb statement.
LOL? YOU LOST ANY CREDIBILITY YOU MIGHT OF HAD THERE.
In college you do NOT need to be a great QB, you can be an average Quarterback with great talent around you and you will find yourself successful and you can win awards.
You can be a below average QB but a great runner and you will be successful and you can win awards.
You can be an average QB and an average QB and you can be successful and you can win awards.
In the NFL you MUST be a great QB, in college it is not at all a requirement.
The NFL is going toward the spread, and it will continue to do so ... every nfl team goes 4 wides on 3rd down now, that used to be unthinkable. It's a logical progression, and no self respecting ncaa coach is going to run a more pro style offense just to help out the nfl.
The new nfl qbs are going to be spread qbs.***that is from an expert at ESPN.
All 32 teams use a form of the spread, how many time do I have to say it. 3rd downs mostly. There are some QB's that run it better than others, McNabb, Vince Young, Jackson, even Favre runs it well. All QB's in the NFL have to know how to run a variation of the spread, real simple.
It's a variation of the spread, like it or not. Who is the coordinator and who is the couch QB here, lol. Please give me your definition of the spread, Mr expert. This shoud be good.
The spread uses 4-5 receivers in a formation, most of the time in the shotgun. They spread the receivers across the field in order to spread the opponent's defense horizontally to open up running lanes and stress them out on passing plays to open up passing lanes and cause confusion. On running plays for it to be an actual spread play receivers normally move up the field to spread the defense out even further to open up even more running plays. Otherwise it's just a hand off from the shotgun.
Florida's offense is a variation of the spread itself. The real spread offense is not out of the shotgun. Florida's is a spread option, which all the NFL teams utilize. The QB fakes almost every play(or gives) to the single back out of shotgun. Like I've said before there are tons of variations with lots of different names. For you to think you are the authority on formations is funny. I've been coaching for 7 years and new teminology pops up all the time. Pistol & Ace are variations the spread.
BTW: where did I say that fake(or give) to the back was an option. You need to focus buddy. Don't make things up, especially things that don't matter. You really have a hard on for Florida, Tebow, UF fans, The spread, ETC....
Tebow is a great football player, winner, person, teamate. He will have his doubters and naysayers. He will continue to do what he does. He may lose some games but he will continue to be humble and lead his team.
Oh, and yes his presence is absolutely terrible in the pocket, so is his footwork, mechanics, release, and awareness.
People with good awareness call many audibles, hot routes, change the run direction, and don't get sacked / tackled for loss as many times as Tebow does.
Wow, you are cluless. He calls audibles, although most of his plays are options, whether it be a run option(give or run) or a pass(with many options). I played QB in high school, and have coached QB's at the high school level, what are your credential???? I guess all his accolades are just dumb people giving him awards. You are sadly wrong on so many levels.
You are so far off it's funny. UF has one of the best fan bases in college football. I guess having loyal fans is a problem for you. Florida has been consistently good for 20 years. Florida is the winningest college football team since 1990(please so some research). I can post many articles form experts who think Tebow will be a great pro. What are your credentials for being so opinionated buddy. You fail to present them to me.
Wow, once again so wrong in every way. I was born and raised in south Florida, played ball for UCF, married a Gator and have been UF supporters for 20 years. YOu are just clueless. UF games have been sold out since 1979, way before they were consistently good. Florida some of the most loyal fans in CFB. Yes UF lost to UM in the (whatever bowl) for the 2007 season, what is your point??? UF had no defense, UM played a great game. It's called football buddy, something you have never played.
i love people like you. he may not have tight spirals every pass but he is pretty damn accurate. something like 67 TD passes and only 11 int's in his career. and you can not even question his leadership and how he raises the play of EVERYONE else on the team. I'll take him any day over anybody else, not saying QBs like bradford and mccoy arent good, because they are, but just because he doesnt throw beautiful looking spirals doesnt mean its not going where it needs to go.
People love a QB that always throws spirals because it has this effect:
1: Makes the ball easier to catch.
and
2: Reduces wind resistance on the ball making it get to it's target faster.
He also has a slow release, on top of actually not being that accurate.
You see, with QBs like Tebow, instead of throwing the ball away when under pressure he runs, making his accuracy and low INTs a little less impressive.
He won't do much running in the NFL, I guarantee it.

true no one uses the spread SINGULARLY but every single team uses the spread in each game. look at the patriots in 2007. the first team in NFL history to be in shotgun over 50% of the time...they were a great team. but yea no team uses it EVERY PLAY. just like no one uses the west coast offense purely anymore either cause the west coast offense doesnt have shotgun. but every team uses its principles on timing. no team in the NFL uses one system. they all have a mixture
gmf20002 2 years ago
The spread doesn't come DIRECTLY out of the shotgun 100% of the time.
The spread is 4-5 WRs on the field, each of them run specific routes to spread out the defense to pressure them and to open up running lanes, THAT is what the spread is.
You DON'T need to come out of the shotgun to use the spread, that is why Meyer's offense is gimmick.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
so youre sayin if he did every play under center it would b ok? but the shotguns a gimmick???!!!! u just dont understand man.
gmf20002 2 years ago
No, it's gimmick because of what I said earlier:
He hands it of to his WRs 40% of the time, options it out 90% of the time, runs the QB up the middle on 20% of the total runs, and runs out of the shotgun 99% of the time.
Find any, just one other team in the country that does this. Not just in the NFL, but in college.
Not only that, but he has to get used to having a lead rusher which he has never had in his entire career.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
well first off the last thing u said makes no sense. hes gonna be grateful to have another person be the main rusher. its less on his back. also handing off to wrs really isnt handing off to a wr. theyre rbs in that play since theyre running it. just like u can throw it to a rb. duh. and just because only one other team runs it doesnt mean its a gimmick. its pretty revolutionary if u ask me. just like when the 49ers did the west coast. they were the ONLY ones doin it
gmf20002 2 years ago
No, if you haven't noticed, the ability to hand off from center instead of sideways motion - is a huge difference need be it.
The West Coast wasn't revolutionary, it was Joe Montana and Jerry Rice that were Revolutionary.
Tebow doesn't have any assets besides leadership that will let him succeed in the NFL, and that isn't enough.
No QB that has ever played in the spread, let alone spread OPTION has ever succeeded in the NFL, and Tebow just has even slimmer chances.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
well maybe youve never heard of drew brees but he was in the spread in college. and i agree its tough to say if it was the system or the players with the old 49ers. they probably COULD have been a pass happy offense. but ill go to brett favre. in his prime he was in the west coast O. then he wasnt and he went downhill waaay downhill. but thats cause hes too erratic. u cant b erratic at ALL in the west coast offense. no one should give him freedom to run n shoot. lol
gmf20002 2 years ago
Drew Brees played at Purdue, who didn't switch to the spread until 2003 when Joe Tiller initialized it thinking that it would be the most effective system in the Big Ten.
Well, he was wrong.
Besides, even if Drew Brees ran the spread in college he had every asset to him that Tim Tebow doesn't.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
what r u talking about?!?! when drew brees came in people doubted him because of his size and throwing strength. just like they did with Montana. and tim has the power he just needs 2 work on accuracy a little bit. honestly tebow can throw the football. we all can see it. hes got skills and leadership. he can be a very good NFL QB and brees threw the ball almost every play when he was at purdue look up his stats
gmf20002 2 years ago
Drew Brees is in the bsame type of offense at Purdue that he is in now, Pro Style pass happy attack, that's why he's succeeding to such an extent. I would honestly never take him on my team.
You don't understand do you? You're just another delusional tebow homer.
Tim Tebow's mechanics - terrible
His release - god awful slow
His accuracy - Bad
Awareness - bad
Presence - horrible
Ability to read defenses - almost not even there
He has an entire lifetime of work to do on himself, not a "little"
HaterisHere 2 years ago
c now youre just lying how am i a homer?? i live in louisville KY! lol hes just real good so im telling facts. and how can u say his awareness is bad? he rarely makes bad passes and running the option u need 2 be more aware than in ANY other offense!!! and his presence is great!! people know he can burn your defense deep short or run they keep all eyes on him! and hes athletic so hes not going down without a fight in the pocket. and as i said he reads defenses very well
gmf20002 2 years ago
You don't need to be a gator fan to be a Tebow homer. I know UT and FSU fans that are Tebow homers.
No, he does not read defenses well. He doesn't know how to interpret man or zone coverage and for that he will get annihilated in the NFL.
His awareness is terrible man, he constantly gets sacked and taken down for losses. Unfortunately for the option plays the stat keepers don't know whether he was sacked or just tackled for loss. He should have more like a 30 or 40 in his sack stat.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
Oh, and are you crazy, he has a terrible pocket presence, that is one of his worst flaws.
Rarely... Rarely makes bad passes? Are you a dumbshit? How many times per game does he throw a spiral? 1? 2? That stuff MATTERS. Mechanics MATTER. He has had the delight of having crutches in college football. He has been on one of the most talented team, especially speed wise in his receivers.
He's the perfect example of a type of player that works in college but not the NFL.
Quit sucking his dig dude.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
Dick* damn, I'm really off today.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
yea u been off for a few days downing tebow
gmf20002 2 years ago
How is Tebow's accuracy bad??? 65% completion, 173 QB rating. I've watched this guy the last 2 years and all I see is him being very, very efficient. Great accuracy in every range 5-50 yds. Don't understand where you get that, have you watched him play. How do you have statistics like 448-681-11, he has 11 interceptions in 681 attempts. Do you realize how good that is??? 67 TD's. You say Awareness-Bad, Presence-horrible. Are you on crack.....the #'s speak for themselves.
knightguy11 2 years ago
LOL, he has terrible accuracy.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
Sorry buddy, you are just soo wrong. He has great accuracy, great "presence", and great "Awareness". Just because you have an opinion does not make it true. I played D1 college ball and I have been an Offensive Cooridinator at the High School level. I have much more football knowledge than you do. YOu are just way off. Tebow is a truley great QB, leader, winner.
knightguy11 2 years ago
681 attempts doesn't sound like a guy who runs all the time. He was 18-30 for 231 yards in the NC game against Oklahoma. You are just so far off it's funny. Please give my your credentials to back up your Opinions on Tebows footwork, etc. Funny stuff.......Accuracy, lol.
knightguy11 2 years ago
18-30 against a bottom 50 ranked defense nationally, wow I'm so impressed. Not really since it's obvious Harvin was the guy doing the real damage in that game, just like he is in just about every big game UF has.
Get a clue dude, seriously.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
Harvin didn't even play against Bama in the SEC Championship game, lol. I have a clue, but you don't. Go back to the couch and breakdown Tebow's footwork, lol. Pathetic.
knightguy11 2 years ago
I would stop posting if I were you. YOu are showing how utterly clueless you are.
knightguy11 2 years ago
No, you're showing how homerish / ignorant you are.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
You are a pathetic hater, who has no clue about real football, never stepped on a field, sits back and thinks he's and expert. YOu are really a punk.
knightguy11 2 years ago
I was born In Athens, Ohio and raised in Edgewater, Florida, I played SLB and FB for the Cudas.
You can be a dedicated fan, but the arrogance and ignorance of Gator and Miami fans is unmatched by everybody but Oakland Raiders fans.
UM had no offense that year, and they still rack up how many yards? In ORLANDO, FLORIDA NO LESS?
HaterisHere 2 years ago
Michigan had a great game. What is your point. Does Tebow play defense now???? Stay on subject buddy. What is SLB(strong Line backer) did you play inside or outside linebacker? SAM or WILL(strong or weak). Florida fans a some of the best in all of college football, you have your opinion, thats fine.
knightguy11 2 years ago
I played the Sam linebacker, meaning where the TE lines up. My team ran the triple option so it was fun to play the FB.
Florida has good fans to UF fans, but to nobody else, believe me dude.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
Dude, I know where a strong sidebacker lines up. I have to break down film every week. I ran the veer in high school, all option.
Anyway, just stop the negative stuff, no need for that. YOu don't have to like Tebow. He is a good leader and a good kid. He may never play in the NFL< who cares about that. Many people don't like him because he gets so much love from the media, I get that. He had never done anything to anyone to deserve all the nasty comments about him.
knightguy11 2 years ago
Not negative, objective. I say what I see, and I see bad footwork, mechanics, slow release, and bad pocket presence.
Don't care about who he is as a person, could be a rapist for all I care. The only thing that matters to me is who he is as a football player.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
All I can say is I disagree with you. I know you are an expert on QB's, but in my humble opinion he is one of the best college QB's ever. Actually he has pretty good footwork, great pocket presence, and his release is much better than it was 2 years ago. How is his leadership. Off the charts. He is a winner. You just can't measure that one. All his awards are testimony to that leadership.
knightguy11 2 years ago
I agree he is one of the greatest players to ever play college football, but that doesn't translate into the NFL 9/10 times in these days of CFB.
Sometimes winners don't translate either.
I'm not saying he's a bad football player, I'm saying he's a bad QB.
But in college you don't NEED to be a great QB to be successful at the position.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
Idiotic statement from a guy who has never played college football, let alone never played QB. Any QB that starts for any Div 1 football team is a pretty good QB. I don't care what team it is. That is a really dumb statement.
knightguy11 2 years ago
BAD QB's don't get the Maxwell award, BAD QB's don't have a 173 QB rating. You are seriously off.
knightguy11 2 years ago
HaterisHere 2 years ago
You are completely misguided. I really don't have time for this.
knightguy11 2 years ago
Misguided? prove me wrong then?
HaterisHere 2 years ago
YOu have been proven wrong over and over. All you give me is your opinion. Please end this.
knightguy11 2 years ago
Lol you really think that don't you? You are just another delusional Tebow Homer, and the average gator fan.
Nothing more. Please, just stay off the internet and don't spread your idiotic delusions anywhere else.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
The NFL is going toward the spread, and it will continue to do so ... every nfl team goes 4 wides on 3rd down now, that used to be unthinkable. It's a logical progression, and no self respecting ncaa coach is going to run a more pro style offense just to help out the nfl.
The new nfl qbs are going to be spread qbs.***that is from an expert at ESPN.
knightguy11 2 years ago
LOL? Name ONE, just ONE team in the NFL that uses the spread as a base offense.
Furthermore, name ONE QB in the NFL that is specifically a spread quarterback?
The traditional drop back pocket passer will NEVER be replaced in the NFL.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
All 32 teams use a form of the spread, how many time do I have to say it. 3rd downs mostly. There are some QB's that run it better than others, McNabb, Vince Young, Jackson, even Favre runs it well. All QB's in the NFL have to know how to run a variation of the spread, real simple.
knightguy11 2 years ago
Vince Young? rofl? He's one of the worst QBs in the NFL.
McNabb? lmao can you say 1-5?
Favre? Vikings? Worst example you've used thus far.
What is simple is what you're not getting, 4 wide outs and the shotgun does not the spread make.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
It's a variation of the spread, like it or not. Go coach powderpuff, you little pathetic punk.
knightguy11 2 years ago
Powderpuff? Punk? lmao pathetic.
You're an idiot if you think 4-5 wide receivers in the shotgun formation automatically makes it the spread.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
It's a variation of the spread, like it or not. Who is the coordinator and who is the couch QB here, lol. Please give me your definition of the spread, Mr expert. This shoud be good.
knightguy11 2 years ago
The spread uses 4-5 receivers in a formation, most of the time in the shotgun. They spread the receivers across the field in order to spread the opponent's defense horizontally to open up running lanes and stress them out on passing plays to open up passing lanes and cause confusion. On running plays for it to be an actual spread play receivers normally move up the field to spread the defense out even further to open up even more running plays. Otherwise it's just a hand off from the shotgun.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
You are really nit picking on this one buddy. Like I said many times before, these are variations of the spread. How are you that stupid, lol.
knightguy11 2 years ago
Wow, lmfao make yourself look worse bud.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
Wait, i thought you are an idiot if you think that 4-5 recievers and the shotgun formation makes a spread offense...
bradberrynic 2 years ago
@bradberrynic
No? It's horizontally spreading the defense out to create room in space and provide running and passing lanes.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
Florida's offense is a variation of the spread itself. The real spread offense is not out of the shotgun. Florida's is a spread option, which all the NFL teams utilize. The QB fakes almost every play(or gives) to the single back out of shotgun. Like I've said before there are tons of variations with lots of different names. For you to think you are the authority on formations is funny. I've been coaching for 7 years and new teminology pops up all the time. Pistol & Ace are variations the spread.
knightguy11 2 years ago
Oh great, the homer / retard is back, yay...
In the NFL Those are FAKES, those are not OPTIONS you moron. NFL teams very seldom run option plays, specifically because it doesn't work in the NFL.
No, you haven't been coaching who the hell do you think you're kidding?
The fact that you are saying what you are saying, pretty much tells everybody that knows anything about football what a retard you are.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
You are pathetic in every way. You don't know squat about football, you just spew your uninormed opinions out there. What a jerk.
knightguy11 2 years ago
uniformed opinions? rofl look who's talking. You haven't given a single fact yet. I only speak fact.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
BTW: where did I say that fake(or give) to the back was an option. You need to focus buddy. Don't make things up, especially things that don't matter. You really have a hard on for Florida, Tebow, UF fans, The spread, ETC....
knightguy11 2 years ago
An average QB and an Average runner*
HaterisHere 2 years ago
Tebow is a great football player, winner, person, teamate. He will have his doubters and naysayers. He will continue to do what he does. He may lose some games but he will continue to be humble and lead his team.
knightguy11 2 years ago
Oh, and yes his presence is absolutely terrible in the pocket, so is his footwork, mechanics, release, and awareness.
People with good awareness call many audibles, hot routes, change the run direction, and don't get sacked / tackled for loss as many times as Tebow does.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
Wow, you are cluless. He calls audibles, although most of his plays are options, whether it be a run option(give or run) or a pass(with many options). I played QB in high school, and have coached QB's at the high school level, what are your credential???? I guess all his accolades are just dumb people giving him awards. You are sadly wrong on so many levels.
knightguy11 2 years ago
Lol, that's basically like saying: He was good in college, so he MUST be great in the NFL, right?
Tim Tebow's style nor system doesn't translate into the NFL.
get over it dude, doesn't matter anyways.
Everybody but clueless gator and tebow dick suckers / homers agrees with me.
This is why the UF fan base blows.
They get one or 2 good players on their team, and they think they're the greatest thing ever, because of how rarely it happens.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
You are so far off it's funny. UF has one of the best fan bases in college football. I guess having loyal fans is a problem for you. Florida has been consistently good for 20 years. Florida is the winningest college football team since 1990(please so some research). I can post many articles form experts who think Tebow will be a great pro. What are your credentials for being so opinionated buddy. You fail to present them to me.
knightguy11 2 years ago
Yeah and how big of a game did the Bama game really turn out? Come on please can you say Utah?
Tim Tebow can't even beat an 8-4Big Ten team that lost to Appalachian State.
UF has one of the worst fan bases in college football, it may be large but the fans? terrible. I should know, I live in Florida.
That's like saying because the ND fan base is huge they are generally a great fan base, not even close.
UF fans are generally known to be the most arrogant and ignorant fan base in CFB.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
Wow, once again so wrong in every way. I was born and raised in south Florida, played ball for UCF, married a Gator and have been UF supporters for 20 years. YOu are just clueless. UF games have been sold out since 1979, way before they were consistently good. Florida some of the most loyal fans in CFB. Yes UF lost to UM in the (whatever bowl) for the 2007 season, what is your point??? UF had no defense, UM played a great game. It's called football buddy, something you have never played.
knightguy11 2 years ago
i love people like you. he may not have tight spirals every pass but he is pretty damn accurate. something like 67 TD passes and only 11 int's in his career. and you can not even question his leadership and how he raises the play of EVERYONE else on the team. I'll take him any day over anybody else, not saying QBs like bradford and mccoy arent good, because they are, but just because he doesnt throw beautiful looking spirals doesnt mean its not going where it needs to go.
codyb123 2 years ago
Actually it does.
HaterisHere 2 years ago
