Best charicter in Final Fantasy period is Sephiroth but in this game it would have to be either Vivi or Amarant, Vivi is small but yet so powerful and Amarant is just powerful all around.

I always had a group consist of Eiko and Garnet, the benefits of having 2 summoners in your group gives you the best effect.

you need to equip your party with a skill called "auto-phenix" (if i'm not mistaken). when all of your party members are dead, the phoenix will automatically be summoned to revive your party..

But Why does Eiko way better than Garnet(just in Battle)

Eiko: White Magic: She has Full-life(garnet only has "life"), esuna can cure all the bad status, Holy( can deal 9999 and it's fucking amazing that Garnet doesn't have any magic can deal Damage). Eiko also has some useful magics

Summon: Garnet has much more Eidolons but Eiko still better, she has madeen can deal 9999(ark is stronger but damage limit is 9999 and it take so so long to summon). Garnet has many summons but we only need one Eidolons to deal 9999. And the most thing i like is Phoenix, can revive all KO'ed party members WOW even when all your Party are dead which mean a Game over, Phoenix can auto summon to Revive you

We can see why Eiko is much better than Garnet

I've never seen Phoenix used the way it was at the beginning; but then I'm usually careful not to get KO'd, so I guess that'd make sense; Eiko and Garnet are my favs along with some others in FF IX.

It's simple, when eveybody in the party has died, and Eiko is on your team, Phoenix is called automatically to give life to the team with full HP and MP, however this doesn't damage the enemy, only recovers.

Nop, this has a very low chance of appeareance, I only saw it twice when I played the game, and I was killed often...

Umm i dont know if he can show up more than once maybe i will try it but if you want to rise chances of his appearing then have a lot of of phoenix pinions i think(long time not played but save from it is somewhere xD)basic chance of for revive is 1/256 every item phoenix something rise chance by one so maximall chances are 99 in inventory 1 on accesorry in eiko and basic 1/256

carbuncle can do certain things with certain gems, for ecample ruby is reflect, emerald is haste (i think) diamond is something and the other i forget

While we know that the Phoenix Pinion lets Eiko learn to summon Phoenix, we don't know how Phoenix arrives at the start of the battle like that. Care to explain?

if you look his party members were dead through force of his own...if you have 99 phoenix pinions in your inventory then you have a 38% chance that when all your characters are dead that rebirth flame will be initiated! xD hope that helps ;)

Phoenix is fun like that... It's sorta like in FFVII if you link Final Attack and Phoenix materia together. It's always fun to cheat death through legal means ;)

To make fenrir use his second atack which is called "Mellineal Decay" you need to equip Madain's Prayer as an addon and then summon him good luck :)
