sounds awesome...not counting the CGT, it's probably the closest sounding thing to a formula race car. Don't really dig the looks though, looks like a Supra on steroids. Honestly this car is not worth $350,000 even with the 500 car limited production and the all carbon chassis IMO, this car is worth 200-250k at most.

Fastest Enzo lap time I saw around Nurburgring was 7:25, 7:20 for LFA. I also saw videos of Veyron going around the ring. and it doesn't seem as nimble as this LFA. but you're right we're speculating too base on our own impression. although Enzo and Veyron cost a hell of a lot more than LFA but nobody ever said Enzo and Veyron are overpriced.

What kind of world have you've been living in? Sport cars drop down in value like no other car. For instance, a 2000 Ferrari 360 Modena started at 136,000 new. Guess how much i can buy that year model 2000 modena now? 60-70,000. That means that car lost more than half of its value. Go and look at a 2000 model corvette, and they'll have a price of 15-24,000. Again, lost half of its value. If being dumb had a club, you'd be apart of it.

I'll admit I F'd up on the whole "one car" deal, but let's be realistic. Mostly all sport/exotic cars lose a mass portion of their value. Rarity plays a role in it i believe.

I bought a 2000 360 last year (late 2008) for 105 grand and it was considered a steal (A nice low mile 360 was at least 110k). It's hard to judge resale these days due to the lack of buyers for exotics. The same time last year Murcielago's were going for 180ish. Now they are 130-145k for a good one. It's a great time to buy exotics if you can afford one. Too bad many ppl can't right now. Tough times.

The price cannot be justified in any way shape or form for performance that is relatively standard for uper cars these days. However, it is clear there is more to this car - lapping the Nur in 7.24secs is a second quicker than the lap record holder (GT2) and is 14 seconds faster than the GT-R!!! But, again, the price is still a joke.
Hmmm, let's look at the simple facts, the GT-R is quicker to 62mph but not at top end. The Lexus is clearly a better quality machine (FACT) but at £350k (approx) is simply far too much.

Seeing as this video is a few YEARS old, it's safe to assume that was an earl(ier) prototype. The finished product ought to be superb, especially if it sounds like that.
It's not always about making the most hp per litre, there are other factors that have to be taken into account. Creating the most hp possible for a motor is not the single most important goal when speaking of production cars. If it was, you know the manufacturers have the engineers to do so. With far more expertise and knowledge than aftermarket tuners. I'm sure more hp can be pulled out of any production motor, but how does it affect the longevity and driveability of the motor?

From my point of view these are "racing cars" Reliability is ofcourse an issue but the main focus on cars like these is pure performance in my opinion. and performance comes with a prize.

Well most Lexus cars are rebadged Toyota from Japan. The Lexus brand was originally created for the American market, but that doesn't make them American cars. For example, Toyota Harrier In Japan is exactly the same car as Lexus RX330 in America.

Fastest Enzo lap time I saw around Nurburgring was 7:25, 7:20 for LFA. I also saw videos of Veyron going around the ring. and it doesn't seem as nimble as this LFA. but you're right we're speculating too base on our own impression. although Enzo and Veyron cost a hell of a lot more than LFA but nobody ever said Enzo and Veyron are overpriced.

It car cost as much as a lamborghini and a ferrari...but looks like a celica. I am not a super car buyer but if I had the money there is NO WAY i would spend close to 350k on this average looking car when I can buy a much exotic looking car. Super cars aren't only about speed they must have looks as well. But this looks like it was meant to be a toyota supra. This will be a major disappointment for Toyat....I mean Lexus.

What kind of world have you've been living in? Sport cars drop down in value like no other car. For instance, a 2000 Ferrari 360 Modena started at 136,000 new. Guess how much i can buy that year model 2000 modena now? 60-70,000. That means that car lost more than half of its value. Go and look at a 2000 model corvette, and they'll have a price of 15-24,000. Again, lost half of its value. If being dumb had a club, you'd be apart of it.

Exotics are severly overpriced, people buy them to be pampered to be part of an exclusive group, and they pay for this. it's hard as hell to sell a lambo or ferrari used....it's like selling a house. Beyond that there are a select few that can afford them, so limited market. Thus price drop.

How many people do you find driving a fully loaded car? That is a rare thing. Also, ask those vette fan boys how many of them are driving the newer model vettes. 20%-35%. most probably run LS7/9 conversions. I'll admit I F'd up on the whole "one car" deal, but let's be realistic. Mostly all sport/exotic cars lose a mass portion of their value. Rarity plays a role in it i believe.

I bought a 2000 360 last year (late 2008) for 105 grand and it was considered a steal (A nice low mile 360 was at least 110k). It's hard to judge resale these days due to the lack of buyers for exotics. The same time last year Murcielago's were going for 180ish. Now they are 130-145k for a good one. It's a great time to buy exotics if you can afford one. Too bad many ppl can't right now. Tough times.

For long time, rich folks r paying too much for those badges like... Ferrari, Lambo, Merces, BMW...etc...!!! But when it comes to awesome game changer car like the 90' Honda NSX, a lot of people like to play politic, and just ignorantly asking why a Honda cost too much ( around $60K at that time). Today, the LFA is selling for around 350K and Toyota will not make any profit from it. Instead of paying for the badge (nothing wrong with that) now people can have the option to pay for the real deal.

The price cannot be justified in any way shape or form for performance that is relatively standard for uper cars these days. However, it is clear there is more to this car - lapping the Nur in 7.24secs is a second quicker than the lap record holder (GT2) and is 14 seconds faster than the GT-R!!! But, again, the price is still a joke.

It's not always about making the most hp per litre, there are other factors that have to be taken into account. Creating the most hp possible for a motor is not the single most important goal when speaking of production cars. If it was, you know the manufacturers have the engineers to do so. With far more expertise and knowledge than aftermarket tuners. I'm sure more hp can be pulled out of any production motor, but how does it affect the longevity and driveability of the motor?

From my point of view these are "racing cars" Reliability is ofcourse an issue but the main focus on cars like these is pure performance in my opinion. and performance comes with a prize.
In general service intervals are more frequent on cars like these. And for a reason too don't you think?

it's Not an 8 spd. it has a six speed Seq. gearbox. Nonetheless though, it is sick and sounds angry but it is alot of money and I am sure lexus will take a loss for each of the 500 coming out. Well most Lexus cars are rebadged Toyota from Japan. The Lexus brand was originally created for the American market, but that doesn't make them American cars. For example, Toyota Harrier In Japan is exactly the same car as Lexus RX330 in America.
