  • @TeravoltOrg Clearly not. Tungar rectifiers are low pressure gasfilled tubes, more exactly argon filled. Otherwise this one featured here is a mercury vapour tube, not a gasfilled. Both are "phanotrons", thermionic diode valves that uses ionisation of gases and/or metallic vapours to increase the current that they can handle compared with high vacuum diodes. Main use of phanotrons especially mercury ones was as high voltage and high current rectifiers for BF and RF power amplifiers.

  • where can i find 4 pcs of this tube ?

  • That's a tungar rectifier.

  • Oh yes I like that!

  • This tube is fantastic, I want it for my collection :)

    Nice, very nice, compliments :)

  • Herrlicher Gleichrichter.

Da kommt nichtmal mein 866A-Quecksilberdampfgleichrichter ran.

  • Similar to a Tungar rectifier.

  • normal current: 250mA, peak current: 1250mA, maximum voltage: 2550V

  • thats amazing!

  • The tube is operated in my Philips 1000W amp from 1955, but I´m sorry not to know, when it has been produced first...

  • That has to be a very old tube yes? The filament is completely separate from the anode assembly. And the plate is literally a plate... How old is this tube?

  • @erjohnson227 Probably from 1955 as the amplifier he pulled it from to test it is from that year .
