@peterluvsifc Yeah pretty sure this came out in 1988, the first single was '87 I think 'Beat of Love' remember seeing that on The Tube on Channel 4 before it got axed. Saw them play live in '88 at a CND festival in Edinburgh. Absolutely great quirky little group. A pity they're no longer around, the more or less quit when Woody ended up back in Madness and couldn't tour as much with VOTBH.
i saw voice of the beehive loads of times, in various clubs around birmingham uk, funny how you never saw the drummer at the same time that madness were touring , how strange ha ha
their album honey lingers.... was a subtle title ha

The issue is that it's the monotonous trash they WANT that we hear. But I must say I have music twice as good than most 80s groups together starting from the mid-2000s. How can this be possible? Well, the best bands and artists would only make their music available on myspace and then sell it via itunes. Without ever seeing a record company office building from the inside. Ever.
Way back in 1894, a little girl named Madeline Crothe was skipping through the woods when a mysterious man in black snatched her. He brought her to his house, tourtered her, and starved her to death. Send this to 6 videos in the next 30 min. and you will be safe, but if you don't... at approximately 1: 34 tonight you will wake up to see an aneorexic child holding a bloodied up knife and she will kill you" less sorry this scares
They were a brilliant group! I used to nick my Sisters V.O.T.B tape every day after school and play it. I'm 33 now and my Teenage Daughters love them. It just shows that you can't beat the old 80's music!
Met the bass players mum the other day on a photoshoot for my local newspaper at a new doctors surgery, I needed a patient for the shoot and chose this old woman, got chating and she told me she had a famous son-it was bizarre, unexpected and I had just been listening to the album " Honey Lingers" beforehand. Very Bizarrre
I remember Sorrow Floats very well, I was VOTB's biggest fan from the release of I Walk The Earth in Feb '88 till they disappeared from view in early '92. (I only found out about Sex And Misery much later.)
I loved Sorrow floats, about a 22 year old alcholic, very sad. I had the album back in about 92...but it got nicked...the joys of flat sharing!!! Reckon I'll buy the cd again, for old times sake!
I was 15 when this came out, I also once had this on 6inch,sadly I doudt we will ever have music as it was in the 80's. I wounder how long it will take before some produced band will ruin this by putting a heavy dum beat to it and make it to a club anthem?,VOTBH where one of the greatest bands of the time.
That was the beauty of Top of the Pops in the 80's, you'd hear an absolute shining little gem of pop perfection like this and the next day everyone else would be talking about it and humming it in the playground (i remember 'matthew's song' by karel fialka had the same effect).
Kids today just can't appreciate how it was the little shits. They should have their heads all crushed like baby rats.
i love this. let it bee was an awesome album, gave rise to the wonderful honey lingers.. and probably my fav "little gods"... oh and i also love "scary kisses" off the next one too.
I remember Tracey telling us that Morrissey signed the back of her guitar as he was on the same episode of TOTP. Unfortunately the ink never dried and she smudged his signature when she put it on :-(

I just realized I saw them live in London in a tiny club - probably in '87 - another memory retrieved and relived thanks to the YT community. Cheers!

Err...Its not a live performance! But i guess you already noticed that.
What you apparently failed to notice was the song, performance and vitality of the whole ensemble.
You really lack any magnificence in your soul if you ever had one !
I suggest for more petty gloating and point scoring you examine your parents dissapointment in such dissapointing offspring !
