I tried to keep it from stretching, but each side gain 3mm in length. I was able to rehang the driver door. But, I cannot get those huge phillips out of the passenger hinges to rehang it. Thus, it does not close/open very well.
I learned to weld on this Karmann. I had to butt-weld so I have many seams that are only partially hidden. But, I only did this for myself and not for show. It works for me.
